UODATE: My family and I went back to Sinclair's on August 13th, and my husband said that his entree, Thai Chicken Flatbread, was a "food crime". He had one bite of it and told us, "This tastes horrible." He took a second bite, and declared, "Something is really off with this dish". A minute later, my daughter went to the ladies room, and when she came back, she announced that there was no soap in there. This is a major public health violation! Needless to say, we won't be returning to this place. By the way, just as I wrote in my previous review, the server we had this past time did not ask us if we wanted sugar/sweetener for our iced tea, so, after we asked for it, she had to go get some. Once she left our table, we realized we had no straws, so, when she returned, we asked her for those. Again, she had to go somewhere to get them. Seriously? That is a lot of running around for one table's drinks. This is so ineffecient, and it makes the server look idiotic. Is Sinclair's owner discouraging servers from offering sweetner and sugar? Since there was no soap in the bathroom and sweetener and straws are begrudged, I am wondering if this place is on its last legs. ORIGINAL REVIEW... First of all, I agree with the reviewer who recently wrote that this place does not smell good. Unfortunately, the unpleasant odor is the first thing you notice upon entering Sinclair's. Based on the smell, I was almost going to suggest that we leave, but we were on a tight schedule, and I couldn't come up with a quick alternative. I was not overly impressed with the menu. Almost every entree included an ingredient I don't like or a combination of ingredients that did not sound particularlt appetizing. For example, brussel sprouts, goat cheese, swordfish and black beans, and fried polenta cake with creamy spinach. I felt like this place is trying to appeal to "millennial foodies," people who need gluten free options, and those who are really into the use of local ingredients. Those of us who don't fit one or more of those categories may find this menu very limiting. Since I didn't feel like I had a lot of options, I got the hamburger and asked that it not be served with the Dijon mayo. The burger, itself, was very good, and I liked the fresh cut french fries. The garnish, however, looked like something that might be served at a college cafeteria, extremely under-ripe tomato slices and a huge rectangle of iceberg lettuce. As far as the service goes, our waitress was friendly and prompt, but she didn't seem to anticipate our needs. She did not ask if we wanted sweetener for our iced tea nor whether we would like mustard for our burgers. That being said, I have to explain that on the night we were there, the place wasn't busy, and we could hear the only other table of customers. One of those customers was the most loud, rude, and obnoxious person that I have ever come across. The woman, who was there for a private party, treated our waitress like she was her personal servant and was extremely demanding. The waitress handled that customer very...
Read moreI went to Sinclair‘s for the first time last Sunday, and the environment seemed welcoming. My waitress was a cute little blonde lady who was very efficient and she was very much on her JOB I was with a friend and paid for our brunch . There were scrambled eggs that were very runny if I had not been hungry and running late, I would never have eaten there. There were plenty of snacks and fruit, but whoever was in charge of making sure that there was enough regular breakfast food supplied at the get what you want station was not monitoring that station very well. It just seemed like you were always waiting on something to come to that counter like the bacon and the ham I believe there was supposed to be pancakes, but I didn’t see any. The rest of the staff was young, and there was a specific young man who was a server at tables and he wasn’t very coordinated. He did not seem to be physically or mentally challenged, but it kept bumping in to a chair at my table that kept vibrating a table to a point of almost rocking it, and that pretty much annoyed me and my friend and I looked at each other and she said don’t say anything. It’s not like we’re going to be here that long so I tried to ignore it, and even though I didn’t like the eggs, I was still hungry and I got tired of waiting on the eggs and the bacon and whatever else was supposed to be on that counter and started eating vegetables and fruit and a couple of baked snacks. My friend was not able financially to leave a better tip and I felt kind of bad about the tip that was left so I will probably go back to the restaurant and leave the lady some more money for her tip because she was sunshiny prompt on her job and it was a pleasure to be...
Read moreI was so excited to try this great local place because I wanted to support a small business during this pandemic and the reviews were promising. I placed my order online for “curbside delivery.” When I got there I pulled into a parking space right up front. When it was a minute or two past time, I got out of my car and went in to check on my order. I was told it was not ready yet and asked if I wanted them to bring it to my car. I was a little confused since I ordered curbside delivery and put in the make and model of my car as requested. So I said yes please bring it out to me and gave them my name and the make and model of my car again. I went back to my car and waited 20 more minutes (exactly, I timed it) before I went back into the restaurant to figure out what was going on with my order. In the time I was waiting no one came out to apologize for the extra wait time or give me an update. Then when I went inside my food was sitting out ready to go. I asked if my food had been sitting out for the last 20 minutes, but they said the food had been late and it had been out for 5 minutes. The person helping me asked if I wanted a piece of free carrot cake but at that point I was very frustrated and my food had already been sitting out so I just wanted to get home. The food was mostly good. Unfortunately the crab cakes were dry and they did not include the aioli that comes with it. Otherwise, we did really like the food. I understand food can come out late, it happens. My 2 star review is not because of the wait time but because I felt very ignored. It would have made all the difference if someone would have cared enough to go out to my car and give me and update and brought my food out when...
