Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Bluffton

Location: Bluffton, SC - Sheridan Park I heard Sonic had the best chocolate shakes and my wife wanted one. We were close to this Sonic and decided to add some food with our order. I ordered the foot long coney, and my wife order the NEW chicken Slinger. I am having a difficult time finding the words to describe the pictures of our food. I will start by saying, on a 1 to 10 scale, 10 being best, the chocolate shakes were a 4. They were "okay", and I really think you should be asked if you want whip cream, but that had nothing to do with my rating on the shake. Next, my wife's NEW chicken Slinger. Hmmmmm!!!!! It looks like yesterday's food that was "Slinged" around before giving it to us. Compare ours to the the corporate picture! My wife took two bites, then threw it out the window to any stray cats that may be desperate for food. Now...for the foot long coney! This could NOT have been a freshly cooked hot dog. Notice the tip. Have you ever had a hot dog that when you bite into it, it is like biting off a piece of leather? This was worse! The coney had very little sauce and the cheese was overmelted. The taste was horrid. I tried to eat it, but three bites is all I could handle. It too was sacrificed to the cats..... poor souls! CONCLUSION: First, I don't recommend that anyone ever go to this Sonic, especially if your immune system is sensitive to old food. Next, if management even bothers to read these reviews, I want my money back. I have the receipt. It was $15 and some change. And last, someone needs to be fired! Either the person that trains the employees here, or the employees that may have been trained properly but are not taking the importance of food and health seriously. I walked about 1/4 mile to Sonic. From Firestone where my car was towed because they changed the oil and did not realize the oil filter was improperly installed. After waited an hour to be towed, I could use something really cold to cool me off! I thought it would be well worth the walk to Sonic! This is where it gets worse!😡 Only the drive through at Sonic in Bluffton SC is open. I call and ask to order. They say download the app. I try but my phone is almost dead. I walk around to the drive through over heated. The only thing I hear over the speaker where you order, is someone yelling at me. I tell him I am over heated and just need to get something cold to drink. My car is down the street at the shop. He refuses to serve me. Overheated I walk back to the shop and find something cold to drink and pick up my car. I drive back down to Sonic and go to the drive through, "This is Josh" Me, are you the manager? Yes! Me, May I speak to you? "Josh, here I am standing outside in front of you." Josh at the Bluffton Sonic then walks right up to my driver's window and I ask him to please step back as I would like to stay 6' away. He says he can not. I told him I was the walk up at the drive through earlier and nearly collapsed from heat stroke. He told me to get off the property and walked back inside. Let me first say that I already have low expectations for fast food to begin with and our local Bluffton Sonic somehow managed to lower them even further.

First, we went to the drive-in portion as I thought it would be a fun experience. Pushed the button and waited, and waited, and waited. Gave up on that and went to the drive through portion because ** it.

We go through the drive thru and tried to order a banana milkshake only to be told by Sonic staff that they haven't had Bananas in over two years. In a tone as if I the customer am supposed to know that they have menu items that are out of stock without notice.

So we order a different shake and a number 6 which is a Hotdog with premium beef (lol). We get up to the window and I open the bag to see a bun with a bare weiner. When I inquired as to why. I was told that I didn't specify toppings. Again because I'm supposed to be a mind reader. Bro I'm picking numbers off the board I don't work at sonic. Ask me if it differs from the picture and I need to specify something. Complete and utter incompetence. I genuinely cannot wait until automation can handle this from start to finish.
