Horrible with prices at this location. I went in on the half off day yesterday, found a few items..went to check out, one of the items did not have a sticker on it. However it had a sticker from thr original store, Ollies..the price from that store was $3.99. Thats what the cashier charged me..$3.99, when normally they charge you at LEAST half off the original store price. The week before I tried to purchase 4 necklaces. There were no tags on ANY of the necklaces, when I asked how much they were I was told that "they shouldn't have been put out yet, but we were thinking of asking $5.99 each" ...given that most of the necklaces are normally priced at no more then $2.99 I said No Thank You. Those same necklaces 2 weeks later are STILL not marked with a price. Kind of hard to sell things when there is no price on it..and when u ask for a price...it is pulled out of the air..even if it's a total ridiculous price. I'm adding the pictures of the price tag from the original store and the receipt showing I paid what I would have for it brand new. You guys are a THRIFT store, behave as one. You can't charge full prices for items when the whole point of your organization is to help people who can't afford normal prices at other stores. I don't want a reply from your organization because it will be the same copy and paste response about how your business operates. It's a real shame when you call to talk to someone about your in store experience there is no one to actually talk to..or even leave a message for. Do better guys,...
Read moreGreat selections of books and magazines, and I always find great treasures here such as stuffed animals, storage bins, and cookbooks.
One of my favorite thrift stores in the Youngstown area (Village Thrift in Youngstown) close down many years ago, but the Salvation Army thrift store in Boardman always has some great treasures, and I really love finding magazines from the 1980s and 1990s.
There are plenty of clothes, and sales happen every week. Call or ask the staff at the store, and they will be happy to assist you.
Service: The staff are courteous and friendly, but it sometimes takes a while to get a cashier either due to the amount of people in the store and or the staff for the day.
You can also pay for your stuff with cash, your phone, and a debit or credit card, but they do not take $100 bills.
Price: In my opinion, my experience was well worth it, but they can do better with adding more plus sized clothing and a section or two for magazines.
Facilities: The store was a little bit cluttered during my last visit, but the staff does clean up the store several times a day.
Crowd: There are always people coming in and out of the store, and the isles are a little...
Read moreToday I was in the store and the manager was very rude. When I was checking out she had taken over the register from the other person. I asked if he could check me out because she is always very rude to me, she said no. I said can I please get a complaint form, she left as the other person continue checking out everyone but me. As she came she said you already made a complaint, I said I never filled out any form. Then she said leave the store and your not aloud back in and she will call the police, as I walk out she is filming me and my car and disabled father. I spend hundreds of dollars a month in this store. I also bring my special needs autistic son in the store and shop for him, so denying me is also denying a special needs person( that is against the mission statement.) . Last time she also yelled at my daughter and me prior time in front of my wife. I highly suggest don't support the Salvation Army if they let any employee treat...
