Michaels — Local services in Boardman

I went to Michael's with a friend who was redecorating her living room. I expected a craft and hobby store with inventory like pot holder looms and paintbrushes, model airplanes, glue.....that sort of thing. Walking into the store, I instantly realized how short-sighted my expectations were!!! True- they DO carry those items I expected as well as yarns- that kind of thing BUT SO MUCH MORE!!! You will find every sort of item used for decorating including floral decor, And seasonal, every special occasion you can think of.....from pictures and wall hangings to craft and homemade items to hobby items to baking needs- and every aisle surprised me with unexpected items. I also mistakenly thought that this was a place for women with the patience and skill to make their own gifts, etc. Wrong again!!! Michael's was full of men, women and children and noone looked bored. Take the time to go there and you will be going back again and again! !! Stopped in today to pick up an online order and decided to look around and see what was on clearance in the cake baking aisle they had fondant stencils on clearance, all of them had the original same price of $14.97 all were clearance down to $5 with the exception of one stencil which was a brick stencil same size as all the others exactly the same original price was Clarence down to $10. How is it possible to justify the same exact price and the same exact item being marked on on all but one?? Ask the very nice lady at the register which is the only reason it got two stars because of how nice and polite she was, she asked for help from the manager who went to look at the pricing never did get back to us on why that one item was higher than the others went back to her stocking job and when I asked her about the price she said it was just till 10 even though every other item was...

Absolutely terrible, if I could give zero stars, I would! Nothing like Pat Catan's.. Extremely over priced and don't even get me started on the quality! One thing I bought, and am most definitely returning, was over $50 in letter stencils, and it was only a couple packages. Then come to find out, they're all flimsy cheap cardboard instead of plastic! You certainly can't see through it to line up your letters & there is absolutely no way that they're reusable "as the package claims."

I was also looking to buy little letter blocks for a project, which thank God I didn't! For just 5 small words it would've been over $100!! That's insanity! Especially when they were in horrible condition, all scraped, banged around and not to mention, an inch of dust on them! I will never go there again and I recommend to everyone....Go...
