Owner responds, takes zero accountability for their customer service, and states inaccuracies. I was there for 3.5 hours and asked to leave NOT move. I had one table. Understand your actions? To be asked to leave, have an altercation with the friend of a barista, and have my meeting interrupted? What a JOKE!

It’d be unfair to rate this establishment one star, even though I had a negative experience earlier this week (on Monday). For context, I came in this past weekend with my son and Candace was phenomenal. She treated us very very very well and was extremely accommodating to my toddlers outlandish requests. She was informative and we had a pleasant conversation that led me to want to come back on Monday. I informed Candace that I work from home and would love to come in to work for a few hours. She welcomed this.
On Monday, unfortunately, I was greeted by another barista who was a bit rude in my subjective opinion. The reason I am giving this place three stars is because of my interaction with her and the lack of this establishment having a co-working area. I understand that not every place is set up to be a working area or meant to be a co-working space and this is not to go against the establishment whatsoever. It’s an observation. However, after working there for several hours, I was told by the barista that she had a couple of customers leave because there wasn’t any room to sit. This location only has two tables, two chairs, a bench to go along with these two tables, a few barstools, and tables and chairs outside. I was a buying customer who ordered a latte in the morning and had asked the barista about food items that I might be able to order for a potluck that I have at work later this afternoon (hinting that I’d be purchasing more). She was kind and helpful then. I let her know I will be purchasing the key lime pie when I left.
I was clearly in a meeting and actively engaging and talking when she interrupted me, causing me to have to excuse myself from the meeting, mute my microphone, and turn off my camera. She wanted to let me know that she didn’t mean to be rude, but I had to leave. I very quickly let her know I will be leaving shortly as my main goal was to return back to the meeting I was presenting on. After finishing this meeting, I stayed working to close out the details and communication of the meeting and planned to leave shortly after. Before I was able to pack up, a gentleman that was sitting at the bar said that I was being rude for staying. I asked him to repeat himself because it was a bit shocking to me that he was now involving himself in this conversation and he was most certainly letting me know that I was being rude because "didn't she ask you to leave?" I asked if he worked there, and he said sort of. The barista then said “that is my friend.” I let him know that it was none of his business, and I let the barista know that I was resulting the meeting details and I will be leaving shortly. The barista told her friend, “John, I got this” and he continued to engage with me verbally.
While I understand that there wasn’t much room for customers to sit, there was an additional table there, and about three other stools customers could have sat on if they wanted to in addition to the outdoor seating.
I can reflect and say that maybe when I quickly responded to the barista trying to get back to my meeting, I may have been inadvertently rude. I don’t think so, but I’m trying to have perspective here. In my opinion, it still does not account for the meeting being interrupted to begin with. I also did not like the friend of the barista getting involved in the conversation essentially being an extension of the overall customer service I experienced. I can also reflect, and understand, that I should know that given by the small space it’s probably not somewhere I would want to hang around for several hours to allow other patrons to come in. Again, this is not account for the rude interaction that I experienced.
Be accountable for your actions. What I experienced on Monday...
