WORST SERVICE EVER Today December 3rd is my birthday; my family took me to Chops Lobster Bar for a surprise Birthday celebration (wife and two teens). She made the reservation for 6:30 pm. The waiter took our appetizers order and drinks, and after a long wait, we finally got the appetizers. We asked the waiter to please take our dinner order when he brought the appetizers; he said he would be returning shortly. He disappeared for a long time; I stopped another waiter and asked to see the Manager. After a long wait, the Manager showed up; I explained to him what was happening and that I wanted to pay for the Appetizers, and we were leaving not happy with their service. We were leaving since their service was horrible. The waiter showed up with my bill and with an attitude (I guess because we called the Manager), NOBODY (the Manager, the waiter, the hosted which my wife went to asked her to see the Manager) apologized for not taking our order after we asked several times to several people. I will not recommend this play EVER, and I will never return. They charged me for the appetizers; nobody apologized nor tried to fix the problem when we told them we were leaving due to the poor service. I have eaten at this place several times for business lunches and dinners, and I have been seen a decline in the service and the quality of the food. If they are going to charge top dollars, they need to give you the utmost service. Mizner Park has many excellent restaurants for these people at Chops Lobster Bar act the way they acted today with my family and me. They ruined my family's birthday surprise, and I sense from the people we dealt with it today little to no concern about customer service. We were NOT the only one complaining; a young couple was unhappy about the food and the waiting time. I see this place going under, maybe not right away, but unless they fix the problems and realize that a restaurant is as good as the last meal, they serve a customer. I am writing this, so other people think twice before going to this place. Mizner Park and Boca Raton, Florida, has MANY excellent restaurants that take your business elsewhere, so you don't have a disappointing Birthday surprise like what...

Update: May 6, 2022 We haven’t been here for quite a while and so I just wanted to let everyone know how Chops Lobster Bar is doing in 2022. We decided to have appetizers and sides as opposed to full entrée meals tonight. No special occasion, I was just really in the mood for lobster and we know how well they do it. I started off with a cute martini cocktail call Golddigger, how apropos, lol, hubby had unsweet tea. Bread.. (SO GOOD)..with butter Appetizers.. I had lobster bisque with lobster chunks and Nova Scotia lightly fried lobster tail, which was way bigger than I would expected. Hubby had Thai Calamari and Maryland Crab Cakes.. we also ordered lobster mac & cheese and creamed spinach. All-around great experience, super busy restaurant but you have to expect that when they offer such great service and delicious food. You must come if you’re looking for a great evening, there were lots of family groups as well, everyone seemed happy and it’s a positive atmosphere. We celebrated our 28th anniversary here last night, and couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. From the beginning we were greeted immediately and sat very quickly and on time with our reservation. The ambience is muted elegance, quiet efficiency and delicious smells. Hubby had the lightly fried calamari tossed with a spicy sweet Thai sauce, I had the jumbo lump crab cocktail for starters. They were both delicious and very generous. Cocktails and wine selection are definitely up to par. For dinner hubby ordered crabcakes ( loaded with large lumps of crab), and I had the special of the day which was lobster risotto with mushrooms and shaved truffles, both were outstanding. We also shared a whole pound lobster mac & cheese, terrific! Service was impeccable and two managers stop by just to see how our evening was going and just check in. That’s very special. We will definitely be back and I am 100% recommending this place, expensive but worth every penny. Hats off to the chef, he prepared everything beautifully! Thanks everyone for a...

My recent dining experience at Chops Lobster Bar in Boca Raton, FL left much to be desired. As a party of six, we had high hopes for a memorable evening, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of our expectations in several ways. The primary issue revolved around a misunderstanding with our waiter regarding how we wanted to pace our meal and share our food. Regrettably, he assumed that we preferred to have all our courses brought to the table at once, including salads before the main course. This miscommunication resulted in our main course being served prematurely, forcing us to send it back. This rushed experience significantly impacted our overall enjoyment of the evening. While I must acknowledge that the food itself was of good quality, it's essential to highlight the importance of proper timing and pacing when dining at a fine establishment such as Chops Lobster Bar. Our visit, however, left us feeling rushed and uncomfortable due to this misunderstanding. Additionally, I was disheartened to discover that the tip amount on our bill had been modified higher than what I had initially left. This further added to the disappointing nature of our experience, as it appeared that our wishes were not respected in various aspects of the service.

Overall, the food quality at Chops Lobster Bar is commendable, but the overall dining experience, from the service misunderstanding to the modified tip amount, has left me with reservations about returning to this restaurant in the future. Boca Raton boasts several alternative steakhouses, such as New York Prime, which may offer a more consistently pleasant and customer-oriented dining experience. In the future, I hope Chops Lobster Bar can work on enhancing their communication with patrons, ensuring that their staff fully comprehends the customers' preferences and requests. This would go a long way in ensuring a more enjoyable and relaxed dining experience...

Had a gift card from friends so thought we’d give it a try, on our anniversary. Very noisy inside, chose to dine outside instead. Husband’s NY strip was flavorful and cooked to the right temperature. My 2 jumbo stone crab claws were delivered in a watery ice bath. They were good, albeit getting soggy. Not cracked enough and no cracking tools were provided. A salad plate was brought for the shells, not a bowl. No wet wipes or damp towel to wipe my hands off. This seems petty but at the prices they charge, I was expecting service and details like Truluck’s had. The “loaded” baked potato came with butter and sour cream only. It was warm, not hot and the skin was super tough. The inside was chunky, not hot and fluffy. The Mac n cheese had good flavor but wasn’t bubbly and creamy. It was just ok. After we ate, there were crumbs and bits of hard baked potato on the table, that remained there. At Morton’s and other fine Steakhouses, they scrape the crumbs off. Maybe they thought we’ve only been to Applebees and wouldn’t know any better? Their “award winning” banana cream pie was meh. Hardly any flavor, more whipped cream than filling and I could barely disguise between the two. And it appeared to be melting. (It was cold outside so it wasn’t the heat). The crust was almost white, hard as a rock and no flavor. I would’ve asked for my money back for the slice of pie, but it was comped for our anniversary. I go to pay with the $100 gift card and the rest in cash. Guess what? They don’t accept cash. Thank goodness I brought my cc. All in, it was over $200, could’ve been worse but we skipped the app, and salad. I’ve had better food at J. Alexander’s, Max’s Grille, Abe & Louie’s and Texas Roadhouse. They’re consistent and more reasonably priced. Don’t know what all the fuss is about this place except it’s where wealthy people go to be seen. Not for me.

When my date an affluent Florida real estate entrepreneur for over 50 years gave a 15% tip it spoke volumes about the overall service we had during our dinner. I was so anxious and uncomfortable for 3 hours. It began when I ordered a Bay Breeze and my date ordered a drink. My drink was to include cranberry and pineapple juice. It was served without any cranberry so I asked the waiter and he said, I you want cranberry juice I can add that. Ok. Next he brought the drink back with the drink tasting of rum. I asked again for an assist and even brought up the recipe on my phone and he said well you want that with Vodka. I shook my head yes. During the meal my date liked the plain bread. We asked a bus man for more bread for out party of 3 and then received none from the waiter when he was asked so we finally flagged down a manager to ask for more bread. The meal went very slowly like our table was not in the main dining room but it was ignored. Our waiter just did not come by and ask if we needed anything. We understand staffing issues but a college kid can be trained to stop at a table more than to offer coffee at the end of the meal and attend to their customers throughout the meal. The rib eye $72 the filet ++ and a salmon, 2 salads , several cocktails and he paid my dinner knowing that if you want to go out you have to pay. I won't be able to bring him back there every again. He ran out with his walker to avoid conflict after leaving a less than typical tip. Take a look at the replay.
