If I had a choice to pick 0++++ Stars, I would have! Sorry my review is lengthy, but you must read it. I had the most insulting and rude experience of my life today for lunch at this restaurant.
Today I had decided to dine in with my new co-worker who loves Indian food and this restaurant is close enough.
Worse customer service and food. There was a fly in our food so after I paid including tip, I wrote down on the receipt, "Bad customer service and fly in the food". As I was leaving, the waiter approached me and asked me, “What is this about, what you wrote here”. So, I told him that the food was not that great today and my friend is upset as this is her first time at your restaurant. The customer service was not good and there was a fly in her food. He started talking loudly at me and said, “there was no bad customer service as there is no reason for you to take any food home since this is a lunch portion and you are only paying $8.95 for it; what are you guys trying to do? Make another meal out of it”. First let me tell you to be honest, I am a European Indian through my mom’s side (half Indian), so I know a good quality of Indian people when you talk to one which was not the case here. I asked him, “are you seriously talking to a customer like this”? He ignores me and started looking at the table. I told him that I am an Indian as well, so I know how to talk to people respectfully and how clean the food should be. To which he responded, “That is why you are behaving like this because you are an INDIAN”! WOW! Now, he was insulting me and said, “Yea you Indians, there is no flies in our food, show me”. So, I took the napkin and showed him. At first, he looked at it and denied it that it was a fly and then he said, “For all I know, you put it there yourself”. I was like excuse me, I have already paid for my food including the tip, so I was not asking for a free lunch. At that point he started to walk away after being so loud and disrespectful, so I asked him if there was a manager or an owner at the premises, so he said, “I am the manager and the owner of this business”. I asked him for a business card and he said, “they are on your way out by the door” while pointing at the door and walking away with a smirk on his face. Now at that time, there were a lot of people in the restaurant, so they were obviously all looking. The other lazy waiter was standing there staring at me with disgust, so I asked him for the owner’s name and he was as also rude. He said, “His name is dad, that is my dad”. I was like OMG, either I can stand there and call the cops to create a scene or just walk away. So, I just decided to walk away because I was overwhelmed with the amount of scrutiny and disrespect from the owner and his son!
If anyone wants to eat some quality INDIAN food, please go to TAJ restaurant on Hillsboro and Federal Highway in the Cove plaza in Deerfield which is about 15 minutes South of here. The restaurant is cozy, the owner is awesome, the customer service is amazing, and the food is absolutely to die for (Real Authentic Indian Taste) and the prices are much better for the portion and quality of food and service that you receive. The restaurant is very clean...

Read moreI’m a foodie from one of the biggest foodie towns in the country- Portland. I’m a San Francisco native and pretty well traveled, so I have had my share of very delicious food. Here’s the deal with this Indian food; it’s the best I have had in Florida so far, but that’s not saying much because I moved to Florida during the pandemic. My food was fully cooked unlike some of the other comments, BUT it was unbelievably salty. So salty you couldn’t actually taste the flavors of the food. I want my Indian food to be full of flavor and packed with a punch. If I can’t smell the spices, then this is not the Indian for me. My nann was very heavy and dense, but I appreciated the fresh garlic. I think the biggest issue for me, taste aside, was the price. The price was OBNOXIOUS even for Boca. I mean $18 for butter chicken?! I spent almost $60 for two dishes including tip and taxes. I have been to extremely well known Indian food restaurants in New York and San Francisco, and even their dishes were not priced as high. So the deal is if you want overly salty, mediocre Indian with a high price tag, this is the place for you. I however will be exploring more of my options when it comes to Indian food in SoFlo. I will be giving a solid C grade. Hey C’s get degrees, right....
