Enjoyed the ambience and the food very much. Calamari appetizer was great. Our server…..think his name was Mike….was also awesome. However, we had a very disturbing experience with the so-called “hostess” at the front. My husband needs to wear a cap due to a scalp disability. He is otherwise extremely well-dressed and well-groomed. As with other restaurants, we confirmed that the hat was permissible prior to our visit. Even so, we were still asked by two different gentleman for him to remove his hat when we arrived. They were very accommodating once we explained the situation. However, we were then accosted by the so-called “hostess” (straight blond hair, nasty attitude). When I explained to her that BOTH previous gentlemen had allowed us into the restaurant, and that she didn’t need to stop us again, she actually pointed her finger IN MY FACE and told me I couldn’t speak to her that way! Can you imagine?! What happened to at least a small modicum of customer service, or at least a bit of human decency for that matter? We will obviously not be returning firstly because: 1) a restaurant who can employ someone like this doesn’t seem to have the customers’ best interests at heart, and 2) it is very disheartening and rather humiliating for my husband to have his issues front and center in...
Read moreServer John was absolutely on point the whole night and improved the overall experience. Valet was easy. Ambiance was great. Crowd was great. Food was aggressively average in comparison to Angelo's, Areo's and Tramonti. Food quality seemed high, flavor was lackluster. Burata and meatball apps were good but nothing earth shattering. Main courses looked good with good portions with the exception of the pasta which seemed small. Vodka sauce was especially boring as was the bolognese, both of which should be off the charts based on the lineage. Bartenders couldn't even make an Aperol Spritz. They had 2 tries and it was so poorly made you could see it in the color as it was being delivered both times. If you're meter-pouring $20 drinks, cut it out. If your bartenders cant make simple italian staples, it's time to find new ones. Dessert options were basic, boring Italian staples. We got canolis and profiteroles, and both were actually great. Having eaten at all the places mentioned above, I wanted a more special, artisan experience and to be blown away by the food and I just wasnt. Good solid 4-star spot overall, but not likley on the redo...

Service is excellent! Our waiter, Joseph, is always very attentive and a pleasure to interact with. Even the food runners are super nice and always ask if you need anything else before running back to the kitchen. The atmosphere is extremely lively and some may even say “quite a scene” which we enjoy. If you are looking for quiet and low key, don’t expect that on a weekend night here. But they do have a “terrace room” by the windows where it is definitely quieter. Food has not disappointed. If you are a veal parm fan I highly recommend. I usually order the fish specials and love them. Soft shell crab is fabulous if you like it sautéed not fried. Main meals offer fairly large portions so definitely share if you want to try multiple things. My husband and I love Spiedini, but don’t find it on many menus down here ( we’re from NY ). These guys make it and while the sauce is a bit different, it is one of my favorite appetizers on the menu. But be warned, reservations are tough to get so try this place...
