My parents and I absolutely love meeting up at Bakery Lorraine in Boerne, to dine in, and we do it nearly once a month for lunch. The food is outstanding, every single time. The desserts in the front look sooo delicious scent and are actually works of art! You almost don’t want to eat them…. But then that would be a shame, so go ahead. It is beautiful to behold. My favorite dish is the Reuben sandwich and half salad or soup. Very close to a NYC Reuben. Dad loves the chicken club sandwich. Portions are always extra generous, and we appreciate this because he can share a plate with his wife or save half for later. I also like this coffee shop because it is open through the evening (I heard 8pm, once,) though I haven’t ever gone in the evening. This is roomy, bright a pretty rustic-minimalistic cafe, with lots of natural sunlight. There are a few small outdoor tables too and they are situated underneath shady trees, if you don’t mind your table looking at a gravel parking lot. Indoor seating has never been a wait, you can walk in and don’t need a reservation, there is no stuffiness here. There are always customers but it’s never been packed. It means that if you have a meeting here, it can be in TIME! They always have business. Just enough parking space, too. This place was designed perfectly! It can get a little loud in the back dining room though, the room is cavernous and has minimal decor on the walls, so there is echo. If you’re with someone who has hearing issues caused by background noise, don’t be seated next to the any of the (full) corner tables in the back dining room. It is quite easy to move to a table more towards the middle of the room if you want to have a good long conversation, or, don’t wish to be overheard. The only thing they need to improve upon is assisting guests with where to find the small little water fountain in the back dining room just to get a cup of water. They won’t fill it for you at checkout and (no joke!) I asked two people in one visit where it was, and went back a third time for directions. They weren’t willing to come to the back dining room and show me where the little fountain is. The staff is not going to fawn all over you, they are nice but mostly aloof, and do come often to clear away any clutter during your meal. They definitely keep things looking spotless and uncluttered. As for prices, they’re medium high for brunch, but for food that looks like art and tastes fresh and looks like it deli Heaven, where you can usually get more than one meal out of this purchase, it is ALL WORTH IT....
Read moreMaybe it was just me that had the bad experience but I don’t see what the big deal is about this place. I order my coffee and my food. I got a Matcha latte and a cinnamon roll. They gave me the cinnamon roll right away I don’t think they warmed it up. When I sat down to eat it, I asked one of the guys running by if they could warm it up for me. He said he’d be right back. I never saw him again. They took forever delivering our drinks because apparently they got the wrong number for the order or gave us the wrong number or something because she said there was a different number on her ticket then The one that they gave us for our table. My nephew‘s French toast looked delicious, my nieces breakfast plate looked good, even my sister said her avocado toast was good, though it looked questionable to me. I went back and ordered a Cobb salad and some macaroons. They said they cannot do the salad to go, so I just ordered it to the table and then boxed it myself. The salad was good. I had it later. also, because I was not very hungry at the time I had the macaroons later as well as the cinnamon roll which I could heat up at home in the microwave and it was so much better heat it up. I think this day was just kind of crazy and chaotic for them. I would try it again, but as I don’t live there and I’m rarely in town, I doubt that will happen. They don’t take reservations, even for the busiest day of the year. Which I find kind of crazy. It’s a seat yourself situation. And you can sit outside too, which is nice but there’s a lot of flies flying around. Sometimes the flies get inside. It’s also serve your own water, get your own napkins and silverware too. Other than that, the food that I tried was delicious Once it was served and once my cinnamon roll was...

If I could give more than five stars, I would.
This is hands-down the coolest little spot in Boerne—a hidden gem with amazing food, incredible drinks, and the kindest people you’ll ever meet. It’s cozy, welcoming, and full of charm. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is a must-stop.
The food? Phenomenal. I always order the quiche, their breakfast sandwich on a croissant, and a cup of fresh fruit—and it’s perfect every single time. The chai tea latte is to die for, and the matcha latte is just as fantastic.
What truly makes this place stand out is the hospitality. When we brought our dog, they offered a water bowl and even brought it right to our table. Then they took a Polaroid picture of her and added it to their dog wall—a sweet and unique touch that melted our hearts. You can tell they really care about their customers (and their furry companions!).
Make sure to enjoy their beautiful patio while you’re there. The vibe is just perfect.
Whether you’re coming for a relaxing breakfast, a mid-morning latte, or just to enjoy the welcoming atmosphere, this is the spot.
Absolutely 5 stars if I could give more, I...
