Unless you enjoy being treated like an insolent child do not go here. I had heard decent things about the menu, no rave reviews, nothing outstanding but working in the area I thought I would try it. My server was an older gentleman who came to greet me within a moment of me sitting down, at this point I thought my experience was sure to be great 😊 that went downhill when he took the menu from me sorta rudely and turned to the lunch section. I attempted to explain that I was on lunch and just wanted a few things that could be prepared quickly, he was neither happy or amused. The look on his face said “Oh, lovely - a tiny tip” a few minutes later he brings out my food and practically throws it down, nothing spilled but he wasn’t nice about it either. So I start eating. People were right the food wasn’t anything special but it also wasn't horrible it was just “ok”. As I am eating the server keeps starring at me almost willing me to leave. I couldn’t believe it. He goes and talks to the Manager, a female of about my age and she comes over to talk to me, I made an incorrect assumption of what she was doing, granted I also couldn’t see everything from over the booth and attempted to apologize to her repeatedly. Nothing I said was going to be right by her. Things got so bad I left a half bowl of soup on the table and went to the counter to pay for meal, that I neither enjoyed or finished - I just wanted out. The manager followed we to the counter still flinging insults at me as though I wasn’t leaving fast enough for her liking, she comped my “meal” and left as fast as I could. We came from a small town that had a Chinese restaurant that would be hard to beat (including the prices), so we were SOOO excited to find this place. We ate here religiously when we craved Chinese food. The food is great, and the pricing was just right! It got to the point where the workers recognized us at the cash register. The servers themselves seemed to be switched out every now and then and they didnt have the best attitudes but we were able to look past that. So to the point, we ordered our usual plate and half way through my fiance saw something squirming in her rice. She isolated whatever it was and asked me to look at it and it was a LARVAE/MAGGOT. We showed the waiter and he took the plate after we had to explain multiple times what the issue was. He came back and was going to give us another plate but we both didn't have an appetite after seeing that on our food. They tried making us pay for my plate but i insisted that that would not happen because if there is one maggot in the kitchen, who knows how many more there are or if they would be in my food. Good point to the story is we did not have to pay for our food, but it is a horrible loss to us because we loved the place so much. Too bad their kitchen isn't clean. Read moreWe ordered take out and they gave us the wrong order. We didn’t realize it until we were home and saw the name was wrong but similar. Our kids of course wouldn’t eat the food so we were trying to figure out dinner for them when the restaurant called to ask if we were going to pick up our food. We told them that they had given us the wrong order and we understood the mix up since the names were similar. At that point, rather than apologizing and offering to remedy the situation, they insisted that we pay for food that we didn’t receive. A long conversation followed where they continued to insist that we pay for their mistake. For us, it’s not about the money, it’s about costumer service, they made a mistake, blamed us for it and were rude.
Updated response to China Garden: Your camera shows a customer pointing to the place where orders are, he didn’t know door dash vs take out, he was simply pointing at bags of food, told the employee my name, and your employee handed him a bag of food. How could he even have known that there was a similar name on an order? I can’t believe your accusatory response, it just furthers the point that you are not at all customer focused.
