Decided to drive up from San Antonio today to the town of Boerne and looking to experience Bakhaus. I really wanted to try their coffee and one of their cinnamon rolls.
The drive wasn't too bad traffic wise as we left around 8:45 am and arrived around 9:15 am. Note, the store opens at 9 am.
Parking was a little bit difficult to understand but I've made some comments in the parking section of this review on whats available to everyone.
I took some pictures of from parking and entry from behind (Google maps directions landed me here) and from the front, to show places to sit at Bakhaus.
When I entered I was quickly greeted by the staff who gave me ample time to scan their board for what I wanted to order. Being my first time, I went simple, and I order a coffee with 2 oz of milk, along with one of their 2 pound cinnamon rolls and requested, it be heated up.
The cinnamon roll is very good. The coffee is really bold.
Overall, good time and good eating, one of these cinnamon rolls will easily filled 2 people and it's more likely to be ample to satisfy 4 people.
For me, it was definitely worth the drive. You might also make a day of it and enjoy the town of Boerne and look for some of the other places to eat and shop.
I hope you enjoy your time and your experience is as...
Read moreEhhh….we were so excited to try out the cinnamon roll here after watching many YouTube videos hyping it up as a must do in town. I’m glad that although they were busy - the wait didn’t take long. We got it warmed up to eat in the outside seating area. The cinnamon roll was okay but disappointing. The outside was very hard and even the interior was really chewy. We did like the icing taste and texture. For $10; it was quite a let down honestly. We didn’t even finish it. We also bought a peanut butter bar and lemon bar for later. The peanut butter bar was sooooooo dried out and flavorless. The lemon bar had a really odd raw eggy taste to it. Didn’t finish it. The hot chocolate was really well made. The staff was helpful and friendly and the interior was very cute; but the food just didn’t...
Read moreI had never tried Richter’s before and just wanted a quick sandwich and burgers for my team, some thing better than Whataburger. I usually roll my eyes at expensive burgers, especially in Boerne with high $$ tourist traps serving mediocre food, but this food was actually amazing. I’m talking chef prepared, professionally built, top ingredients, blending of flavors that made these simple burgers and BLT a true and rare treat. Better than even anything I’ve received even from Peggy’s. I feel I have finally found a restaurant in Boerne that stands above the rest, and I can’t wait to try more options on their menu. If the menu seems a little pricey at first, the on-point quality makes the food a steal. Just try their BLT or a bacon burger and I’m sure you’ll agree Richter’s is playing in a...
