Mostly came here because in my research of coffee in Boerne, this place came up. I was excited as one of the main things I look for is one-size espresso drinks and this place had it. However, the place ended up letting me down. When we came about 9am on a Thursday morning, there was only one person working. I understood as they weren’t busy and we were happy to wait patiently. But when it was finally our turn, I was super disappointed when I ordered two cappuccinos and was asked what size I wanted only to be offered 12 or 16 oz. I realize I’m in the minority and many Americans don’t realize that espresso drinks should be 6-8oz MAX. But their signage and illustrations made me think they new real coffee. Sigh. I asked if they could do smaller as according to their signage I thought it would be a real cappucino—like the Italians do. The friendly barista offered me a short cup of 8oz and I said yes! Our cappuccinos were fine. Nothing special. The brew was pretty good—not too bitter or burnt tasting like some places tend to do. But the cappuccino lacked finesse and texture. Obviously, I’m super picky. I realize this and it’s why I choose my coffee shops carefully after checking out pics and menus. But I do think it’s important to be clear on the menu about what’s offered. The cappuccino listing has one size and one price. That should be adhered to and made with the same finesse as other drinks. Not a bad place overall. Just not the place for me. It’s perfect for people like my dad looking for a hearty cup of black American style coffee and a camaraderie of patriots and vets as this place exudes.

Ok, first off, I love small batch roasters. Now, here I am, going through a small town north of San Antonio while on vacation and see this place. Looks cool. So I pop in. Come to find out, it was started by some special ops vets and they support our vets. I am sold immediately. But, then I start talking about my drink. The barista gets my idea and proceeds to pull the perfect double shot, and makes a wonderful machiato for me. I mean, blow my mind drink. The roast on the espresso was perfect, and they pulled a perfect shot that magnified all the notes. I was told the beans come from Tennessee!?!?! How does a fresh roast from Tennessee end up in Boerne TX?!?! The drink I had was seriously one of the best cups I have had in years. Not the Northwest, not the east coast. Not Kansas City where I live. Nope. Boerne TX. *Slow clap* Well done. Well done. ☕♥️☕♥️☕♥️☕☺️☺️

I had seen Black Rifle Coffee on Facebook and Twitter, and I like to support our Troops, the owners of Black Rifle Company give back. Organized staff make sure that your coffee is fast, and precise, just the way you want it. The decor is nice, and fits the rest of Downtown Boerne. Tin tiles on the ceiling are fantastic. Smiling and happy crew is there to serve you. They have a large-screen TV behind the bar. Fun place happy workers. In the next room, through the door is a gunsmith's shop. Very nice place to visit, we will be back! Downtown Boerne (pronounced Bernie - like weekend at Bernie's versus Jason Boerne) is a fun destination. The park had a band, there was an outdoor market there, too. It would be a great place to live!

MY HUSBAND AND I WERE RACIALLY PROFILED AND FALSLY ACCUSED OF STEALING. WE WERE KICKED OUT OF BLACK RIFLE. We had been invited by my daughter, who is an officer and was doing security there that day. She had asked us to come out and spend the day at the festivities. 10-14-23 We had purchased a shirt at a vendor on the street and decided to go to Black Rifle to purchase a shirt there as well bc we enjoy the coffee and merchandise. As we entered the store there was an old man standing at the door to the left. I said hello and continued browsing. We were the only HISPANICS in the store just to give you an idea of the surroundings. He then begins to follow us from a distance. He then whispers something to another employee there and was directing his eyes towards us. My husband was then bothered bc he knew we had been targeted. As we were leaving the store the employee blocks the door way to exit and firmly and directly ask “is that one of our shirts?” He was rude. My husband said “no I bought it from a vendor outside and don’t treat us like this.” Immediately the old man begins to shout and put his finger right in my husbands face telling him that he did ask us right but he hadn’t. NOT ONE other person was stopped on their way out but us.. “THE MEXICANS.” My husband told him to get his finger out of his face and then the old man opened the door and started yelling at us to get out of the store in front of everyone. It was embarrassing and humiliating. My husband told him that he was discriminating against us and he showed him the shirt and our bags but even doing that the employee didn’t stop yelling. Another employee came over and firmly told the old man a few times to go to the back of the store bc it was obvious to him that the old man’s behavior was unacceptable. I tried telling that employee what had happened and but he also continues telling us to leave. We leave. I tell my daughter what happened and she goes to the store and ask what happened and they said that their employee thought they (my husband and I were stealing). She then asked “well were they?”” They said “no.” She then said “well those people were my parents and they were humiliated. No apologies from Black Rifle employees. So I couldn’t let it go bc this was wrong. No one should have to experience such embarrassment or humiliation so I went in soon after to speak to manger Grace. I wanted my voice to be heard. After explaining to Grace about the situation, I really just get he was doing his job response. I told her no he was discriminating. Plain and simple bc not one other person was asked about the merchandise in their hand as they left. Just us.. plus having someone block the doorway.

So my experience was absolutely horrible. I never thought I would be writing something like this. I’m not that person.

So I contacted Black Rifle.. let’s see how they will handle this. Let’s see if they are fair and just. I’m believing that this will be made right and we will receive a public apology for the public...

It was a busy Saturday and my friends and I decided to get a coffee. We had no problems waiting in line and ordering. About 30min pass and our friends who ordered behind us got their coffees. My fiancé approached the counter and noticed the barista was stacking the tickets so to complete the newest ticket first. Meaning our coffee order was always on the bottom of the stack. The barista said he fixed it and we waited about 10min and still no coffee. So I approach the counter to ask how much longer it will be before I receive our coffees. The barista told me I had to wait because others were ahead of me. He didn’t even look to see where our order was in line. At this point, it had been about 40min since ordering. I said since he couldn’t give me an estimate, I needed a refund. He told me to get back in line for a refund. The line was 15 people long. This did not sit well with me as we were approaching an hour waiting for a coffee. I asked to speak to a manager and he said he was the shift lead. I told him I really couldn’t wait any longer and I couldn’t wait in line again. He asked if I could wait a minute, I said if course as he tried to find my order in the register. He couldn’t figure out how to find our order. He asked to see my bank statement to know what time I ordered. I said surely you can figure this out without my bank information. .. I alerted him to the fact that the ticket with all our information was still on the counter because he didnt make our drinks yet. After another 10min, we finally got our refund. A man walked up who I’m guessing is the store manager and gave us a $10 gift card. I swiftly gave to a costumer in line. I would never want to wait this long for a coffee again or be treated like my time is not of any value. I have been to black rifle in San Antonio many times with no issues and this location gave us such a...
