Seriously the best place for authentic mexican food that I’ve found in Boise. We would always have to drive far out of the way, to Kuna, for anything comparable - which seems kind of crazy if you think about the amount of people who love mexican food! Finally, something open later than 7 or 8! They are open until 11! Their Churros are yummy, they have a wonderful selection of snacks and candies in their little shop, the girl at the counter was great and very patient while we drooled over their menu. Even the pictures on the menu looked so good. We could eat here everyday. I can’t wait to try their Pazole, photo showed it filled with goodies and it looked just delicious. We got 12 carnitas tacos and even my young kids loved them. My only hang up is something no one else would care about: Guac was a bit too spicy for me, but my husband absolutely loved it! I can’t wait to try their gorditas when they launch! They have a nice area to eat outside, and a great view of the valley from Federal Way. Thanks for feeding us on a busy week night!!

ETA: this is also the only place in Boise that I’ve found to have Elotes and those doritos bag full of goodies (street food things). The prices were also on point and the flavor was good - idk what place some others are reviewing but it doesn’t seem like it was here. They had an attention to quality that was not even on the level of providing bland or expensive street food. If anyone knows if they carry REAL tres leches please let me know how it tastes. I’m gonna ask next time but forgot lol. Too busy enjoying my perfectly marinated and shredded carnitas. Wait time was less than 10 min and they were busy. Pricing for tacos was $1.75. What are the...

So we are not from Idaho and just passing through but online this place looks pretty great. Well let me share my experience.... #1- We called our order in and whoever answered the phone just said "Hello". We didn't know if we were calling a residence and had the wrong number so had to ask and get clarification. Pretty weird for a business but some people don't understand that so whatever, the pictures looked great. #2- After making the order we were givin a pretty specific time for the food to be ready.13 minutes! Weird! Okay we are on our way. Got there in about 13 minutes but waited another 13 for food because when we got there it was like they didn't even remember they had got an order. It was as if we hadn't made an order at all...They started prepping while we waited so we had to wait even though we called it in!! #3- Not sure if we are super spoiled with our Oregon Mexican food but the Tortas were awful! We are used to fluffy bread, fresh lettuce, onions, tomatoes, avocado, and meat. What we got here was flat bread, some okay lettuce, a little bit of tomato, some mushy meat, and a bunch of beans and zero avacado. Yuck! Normally we want more after finishing one but these ones we could not even finish. I understand there are differences in restaurants but honestly even the pictures tell a different story. Would never go back here and not sure how the reviews are this good unless the options around...

This is a food truck on the road with a shop behind it, you can go inside, order and grab a seat. Or, just grab it out at the truck and head out. Very convenient. The store has a lot of Mexican grocery, spices, candies and other stuff. As for the food, they have a VERY extensive menu that includes Menudo, Pazole, and Chicharrones verde tacos, every day they are open. Lots of good stuff and the taco prices were great. Tacos range from $2 to $2.50 a piece. But, they're also smaller and I wouldn't say they are super loaded. I tried the Chicharrones, adobada, carnitas, chorizo and asada. They were all ok to good. But none of the tacos were super memorable or mind blowing. They have 3 salsas, a green, red and a orange (habanero), as well as plenty of the popular hot sauces. The habanero was really not that spicy. The red and green were both a bit bland. I found that a mix of green and orange was the best.

The menu was packed, and the tacos were all good. I don't think I'd make this a destination, but if I'm in the area I would definitely swing by for...

VERDICT: An excellent stop for Mexican takeout or dine in, reminiscent of the family-run tortillerías near the border. THE REVIEW: This place hits all the high points of a quaint family run market and restaurant. The shelves are stocked with a random smattering of products from Kirkland to Mexico. The experience of a location like this largely hinges on the meta-data provided by the experience around the food-- typically, like stepping into another world. The food itself is quite good (leaning more toward authentic). This is not Tex-Mex (thankfully), and where it shines is leaning more toward the authentic when dealing in things like birría, menudo, etc. Give it a try. Their menu is huge, so I'll come back and write more as I try more. As for the gentleman that mentioned extra charges for using a card, I didn't see one. They do ask for a tip at the register, but that's due to their software. Most modular point-of-sales systems have tipping built in and turning it off can be a problem for the less tech savvy.

This place is truly a local gem, and I wish I had found it earlier. My fiancé and I came here to order elotes and it was SO GOOD and only $4!! I am just really mad that I don’t have anything like this where I’m from :( Apart from the incredible corn, they also have a lot of Mexican candy/snacks/drinks. They have an area where you can eat in (like a restaurant), but you can also get takeout. The person at the register was also so nice. I recommend having some cash in hand when you go though, since they up-charge for credit cards. The Mexican radio in the store is pretty loud though, which made it harder to stay in there for longer. Open till midnight everyday… this place is truly a dream come true.
