The customer service here was fantastic! I believe A.J. was working the window. It was refreshing to have someone sound like they genuinely cared when they asked my name and order; he even said I made an excellent choice. He also asked how my day was going and mentioned how the sun was coming out and how nice it was in this icy 20-degree weather. It is refreshing to encounter a worker who didn't go through the motions when interacting with them.
I tried the new Spicy Falafel Pocket. It was good. I'd order it again if I went to Starbucks, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. It was a nice choice that is somewhat healthy. It has spinach Falafel, hummus with veggies, herbs, and other good stuff on lavish bread. Other than some sugar and seed oils, it is pretty healthy. You can find the ingredients online.
I also tried the Creme Brulee Latte. It was also good. I wish Starbucks offered sugar-free syrups made with monk fruit or stevia rather than sucralose. I try not to eat/drink a lot of sugar, but sucralose is worse for your microbiome/stomach than sugar. During my last visit, I ordered my usual breakfast and an extremely hot chai latte. When my order was handed to me, I noticed that the cup was extremely hot (I asked for it) and did not have a heat-resistant holder. Additionally, my breakfast order did not include any napkins or tissues.
I’m not sure if this is due to company policy or if it varies depending on the person serving at the drive-thru. This experience left me questioning whether such oversights are due to a lack of proper training or if they are influenced by my color or race. Regardless, every customer deserves to be treated with respect and provided with the necessary items for their order.
For the $11 spent on breakfast, I believe I deserve the level of service that matches the quality and price of the products. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that improvements can be made to ensure all customers receive the same...
