QDOBA Mexican Eats — Restaurant in Virginia

My wife and I visited this QDOBA location earlier today and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. We ordered our usual: two 3-cheese nacho bowls with chips on the side, something we’ve ordered without issue many times at various QDOBA locations, including this one.

However, the staff member working the line seemed confused and unhelpful from the start. When my wife asked for white rice in her bowl, he responded, "You can't get rice and chips on the side." Thinking he was joking, she waited for a smile, but when he stayed serious, it made her anxious, unsure if she had asked incorrectly. I politely asked him to clarify, and he mumbled a vague response. My wife reminded him it was a build-your-own bowl, at which point he sighed heavily and reluctantly continued the order.

He then overfilled her bowl with rice after she asked for a regular portion, piled on the veggies when she requested just a little, and gave her only a small amount of queso even though she asked for extra. When it was my turn to order the same thing, I was told again that I couldn’t get rice with chips on the side. I asked for an explanation, but the reasoning was unclear and inconsistent.

At checkout, we were only given one bag of chips for two nacho bowls. When my wife asked for the second bag, we were told we had to pay extra. The staff member from the line came over and mumbled something to the cashier, who looked just as confused as we were. We’ve never encountered this issue before and found the whole interaction frustrating.

We originally planned to dine in, but the unwelcoming attitude and overall atmosphere made us uncomfortable, so we decided to take our food home. This was not the experience we’ve come to expect from QDOBA, and we hope management addresses the service and clarity of policies...

Just purchased two taco salad bowls and was served with hatred, i felt like the caucasion man did not want to serve me or my wife because of the color of our skin, we go there on the regular, order the same bowls everytime, and this time our meal was a little bit of this and a little bit of that then he over stuffed it with sour cream and me and my wife meal cost more then the usual, the guy was rude to the point you can see the hatred in his face, this is my second time going thru this at the same restaraunt, i will not be going back to that location, it is so sad that we still have people out here who hates you because of the color of your skin but not judge you for the content of your character, both times this have happend to me an my wife, they both was managers, i think the owner needs to re-train or hire new employes, im eating it as i type my message right now and havent had meat in any of the servings i just ate, what a...

This store has really fell off, wasn't to great before covid but worse now. Manager at night, heavy set black lady is so worried about closing the store down and getting off then she is about the customers standing in front of her. It was only 830 on a Saturday night and they don't close until 10 but half the line was shut down and out of stuff. Then y'all changed the bowls, smaller then before but you also uped the prices too. Meanwhile while next door at Panda they are still cooking and the food is nice and hot and they close at 10 as well. Pay your employees a living wage and maybe you'll gain some that stay. Starting pay is $11hr and I paid 13 something for a bowl that was reduced in size then what y'all originally had. Very displeased in the quality of service as well as the the smaller bowl but also the increase in price for less. I think I'll move along and find other options...
