First off this place is legitimately a hidden gem. It's tucked away inside a plethora of Spanish restaurants and I don't think I would have ever visited if it weren't for Barstool Pizza Reviews. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love Spanish food but a pizzeria in the middle of it all... sometimes the taco will rule the slice.
But let's get down to the pizza business. The owners are from the 412 (AKA Steel City; AKA Pittsburgh) not that that would mean anything to many... but now residing in Pittsburgh currently it was really fun to talk Penguin hockey with the guys. Very relaxed atmosphere with a gritty "Let's get down to business" order style. Would have loved to enjoy this excellent pizza with a few Irons... but you get what you get when in the Naples area.
The pizza itself. Is good. REALLY good. Especially for the area/state. Growing up around NYC the palette is a little biased... but the way they make this pizza is pretty on par (i suppose some would complain about the "Water"). But i can totally see why they got the Barstool score as they did. I'd even give it a bump and say it's a LEGIT 8.4.
We ate outside under the two umbrella'd areas. That was the only "Down" side to this experience as enjoying great pizza for lunch in 85+ degree heat with the sun blazing wasn't "Optimal" even with a cold Root Beer. But... either way this place is worth the time to either eat outside or at home.
Keep up the GREAT work yinz! Looking forward to visiting every single time now as we visit the Everglades...
Read moreThey only take cash. They have there own ATM on premises. They don’t tell you over the phone that they don’t take credit cards they only take cc for online orders?? So I leave to go take cash out so I don’t pay the over the top ATM fees. Come back and I look at the pizza that’s been sitting on top of the oven fir 20-30 minutes by now and I tell him it looks over cooked. He states that’s how we keep it warm. I explain I won’t be able to warm it up when I get home from the 35 minute drive. He says the pizza is fine. When I get home the pizza is hard, overcooked and tasteless. My daughter takes a few bites and says she doesn’t like it. Someone who ONLY likes pizza. Notice how stiff the slice is in the picture. Jalapeño poppers with marinara sauce?? W T S Now the wings were what I came for but I finally noticed where they got the flavor from. He must have had a part time at Publix because they taste just like Publix wings! I guess third time coming here will be the last. Goodbye grandpa By the way first time I came in guy who says he’s the owner give me the vschpiel about how he cooks the wings in the oven that’s why they taste so good. The fat guy who’s working today tells me they only fry them ha...
Read moreIt's a no big deal hole in the wall place, but boy can they make pizza. I don't know if "Grandpa" was Italian or not, but whatever he did, he did great. I decided to try it out, as it was my turn to bring dinner home. Looking on the menu I saw they had chicken wings, and decided to include that with the meal...Going in you met by a stack of pizza boxes, ready to serve the flock of customers to be stopping in later. I got the pizza loaded with meat and veggies, half-baked, along with the wings. Twenty minutes before and, I popped the pie in a hot oven. It came out with a beautiful bubbly tanned and cheesy crust. My wife came home from work, ravenous. I sat her down, poured her a glass of wine and presented her with the piping hot pie and wings. Boy was I hero. Crust was crispy and this side of chewy, with a delicious tomato sauce covered by a sheet of melted cheese, imbedded with meat and veggies in every bite. It's worth the trip, and worth the wait;...
