Platoo Sushi & Thai — Restaurant in Bonita Springs

After reading so many "good" reviews I was expecting a great meal and excellent service.. we did not have that.. I hate writing a bad review but I also hate to not share an honest review... So came in for dinner, and from the beginning service seemed frantic" , we sat ourself in a almost empty restaurant there was a woman waiting on a takeout order and a couple who were eating.. we sat for almost 10 minutes before we finally were approached by a distracted woman who we told our drink order and attempted to give the appetizer order but she walked away.. ok we thought we will give it when she brings drinks.. not so..she walked away again when we tried to order..as as we waited to order we saw a table with a "reserved" note on it...she flitted around that table before she finally approached again..she almost walked away without taking our order but before she could I gave my order, my companion asked which roll was best.. she told him quickly her opinion which one we thought she recommended but honestly we were having a really hard time understanding her maybe she couldn't understand us?? After another 15 minutes our appetizer of crab Rangoon came, the outside looked ok but 6 very small wontons we're filled with a very runny filling and we were hungry so ate it anyway.. it was definitely overpriced for the size.. after another long wait the dinner entree finally arrived" we thought as long as we waited on it maybe it will be better.. not so" the chicken teriyaki was mediocre.. the rice was good the only thing I enjoyed but the veggies were too hard and I could not eat them,so undercooked vegetable and overcooked chicken" cold,tough and hard .. companion had ordered a roll.. server told him what she liked but brought out both .. so that was 2 small rolls for over $20bucks each .. literally over $44 bucks for his meal" not what he wanted and we honestly felt she knew he did not want both that's why he asked her which one do you recommend and how hard is that to understand?? Guess she could care less she got the money and the underserved tip"..(btw he's had Publix grocery store rolls taste better then what he had tonight) it seemed like she was in to much a hurry to care or get our order right .. seemed like she knew we wouldn't say anything about her mistake.. overall it was an expensive bad meal.. we are not ones who are rude so instead of complaining about the food in person or mistakes in the order we just know we will not ever eat here again.. to make it worse was the almost $96 dollar bill and we still paid over 20% tip out of courtesy ( and if it had been good we don't mind paying) but to pay for bad service and bad food is just a Bad Lesson learned.. "(maybe others enjoy it here but I wasn't impressed) and I definitely can't recommend stopping here or spending so much for the less than stellar...

Are you looking for an amazing Thai restaurant in Bonita Springs & surrounding areas? WELL LOOK NO FURTHUR! Platoos is truly the best! The menu has a ton of variety and you can actually really truly choose your level of spice...I KNOW RIGHT?! Platoo the owner is truly a boss lady! She's amazing, kind, sweet, & YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY TELL THAT SHE & HER HUBBY CARES ABOUT EACH & EVERY ONE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS! I don't think I can really truly put into words about how amazing this place is, all I can say is check it out for yourself! But listen if you go in with a chincy, cheap attitude looking to scam and take what you can get maybe this isn't the place for you! Platoo works extremely hard, will go out of her way to accommodate (to an extent), to make sure that ALL of her patrons have the absolute best dining experience. This is a small place w/big personality (heart, flavor, etc...I really could go on) there is also outdoor dining space, as well as take out. When you come & dine in & if you happen to come in when it starts to get busy you will see why so many ppl KEEP COMING BACK TO PLATOO, & I think once you've had the absolute pleasure of eating here...you will too!

Oh and I'm sorry I forgot to talk about what we ordered. This order our app was rock shrimp which was our 1st time having it and OMGEEZ this was DYNOMITE! We also had the Tom ka (sp) soup with shrimp I ordered mild and the hubby ordered medium( in out a spoonful of his broth in mines to add a smaller kine amount of spice). My hubby ordered soft shell crab w/the mansanang curry sauce(medium) and I ordered the Mansanang curry with shrimp (medium) and mines was a tad too spicy SO THIS IS HOW ACCOMMODATING PLATOO IS. I really didn't want to send my entire dish back bcuz I was hungry, so I asked do you have some coconut milk I can add to make this not so spicy? She wanted to take it back & make me a whole new one but I said no nvrmind I don't want to do this cuz I'm hungry, so what did this sweet amazing woman do?? She had her hubby make me a very small like ramiken size bowl of a milder version of the curry sauce for me to blend into my main dish to make it less spicy. Now that's amazing service! We've also had the Mongolian beef the gyoza, and more but for right now I cannot remember. Anyhoo like I said you cannot go wrong going to eat here be...
