Update" the last couple visits on Saturdays has not been good, server Terri was distracted, and overcharged us prompting me to have to walk back in afterwards and only because I double-checked the bill since it seemed off ( thank you to the young man that corrected the price for me) as well food out cold, as for the quality and taste it just hasn't been as good in past.. fried fish tasted frozen and crab corn chowder was watery, steamed shrimp were rubbery, disappointing when you spend over$100 for a mediocre meal, drinks were the best thing but I came more hungry" than thirsty" ..you would think off season would be better service and food.. doesn't seem to be the case this season..☹️ . since it's been last 2 visits on Saturdays and have been dining when it's not busy( after 2pm)... thought it would be better when not busy.. Wrong""' and plates never are taken so it gets crowded and cluttered..not worth the money"" .. Nov 2024"Came in for a late lunch, our server was Nikki and she was great, customer service was 10 stars all around.. we came at the perfect time in-between lunch and dinner rush which I highly recommend if you want a seat during the busy season. Started with a couple drinks and appetizers.. I really enjoyed the flavor of the corn crab soup.. especially with the tasty hush puppies..the ahi tuna tasted good as well. Main course was coconut shrimp, with garlic mash potatoes and cole slaw as well". The broiled salmon" with mash & slaw was delicious. Food came out hot and overall was Great!" I wish I wasn't so full because the chocolate cake looked good.. price for 2 was a splurge at $120 and 25 tip not something I can do every week but we will definitely be returning.. thank you Nikki for your attentive service which made this place a ...
Read moreWe have been going to the Bonita store since it was founded in 1997 and will never go back after last nights experience. The attitude within the restaurant has been changing over the last two or three years but we tolerated it. We had a new server at the bar and at first she was very pleasant but with each request she became more firm in her stance which goes against the concept of customer service. First we asked for a half order of an item that we have been getting there for years, not on the menu but they still have been serving it. The server told us "no but if you want the half order i will get it for you but you will have to pay full price, is that OK?" who wants to pay full price for a half order? Then she started getting nasty and the smiles stopped and when the food order came out she basically threw it on the counter in front of us. They offer the 2 for 1 drinks and my wife could not drink her second red wine so i asked to have hers. I was drinking white wine but the server insisted i had to have the second one the same as the first! What is the difference, they were both house wines. We never saw the server again as she refused to wait on us and the manager had to take over. After discussing it with him it became clear that he was supporting her and not his longstanding customer.
It seems Tony Phelon no longer cares about customer service only the bottom line. Such a shame as people like us made this restaurant what it is today with our support over the years. ...
Read moreEverything was awesome, great service, very friendly. The food came out fast and hot and it was great. We had calamari app and fish chips, delicious and great value, grilled mahi mahi again great and even the chicken strips were great....along with 3 kids meals. Then we were waiting for the bill, and waiting and waiting. Finally my daughter and the kids went outside, kids got restless. Meanwhile my son in law and I continued to wait, I think we could have left at that point. Finally we asked for the check and after it came to the table from someone else ( not our server ) we had to wait again. Finally after several people passed the table, a young lady asked if she could take our check. She took it and ran the card, brought it backed. Finished and left, the whole time at the end we only saw our server once when she went by the table and said she would get the check. I actually dont blame the server, it looked like to me the bartender went home and our server took over for the bartender. Our server was behind the bar when we left. To me that seems like poor scheduling. I get you have to reduce staffing as the night winds down but at the very least some one should have taken over our servers tables. Overall it was a nice dining experience just too bad it had to sour at the end. On a side note, if you are going to have a table just outside the kitchen (which was fine didnt bother us ) maybe you should get rid of the nasty old rusty filing cabinet, noticed it while we were waiting...
