The drinks and food here are great, but I had a really uncomfortable interaction with who I think is the owner. After grabbing for my friend and I's attention a couple times, he initiated a conversation which turned sour really fast, and he started yelling at my friend, even approaching us aggressively when we were trying to leave. I think it's unprofessional and disrespectful to be aggressive towards paying customers who weren't trying to fight you. As a young woman, one of the scariest things is an angry, hostile, fully grown man. The other workers are always so kind and pleasant, but I don't feel comfortable coming back unfortunately. I have tried to understand the owners point of view but it's unjustified.
This is an added bit to address Dylan Polatty, who wasn't in the cafe during my negative interaction unless they are the owner or the worker who didn't partcipate in the conversation. We did not want to engage with the owner, who kept putting words in my friend's mouth, yelling aggressively at us, and would not let us leave the conversation. My friend did not raise his voice at you in the slightest. I think it is very telling that you consider it an insult for me to pay for my friends food, is that because you believe in toxic masculinity? I would like to add that while we were placing our orders, the owner was yelling at someone who was working under the town of Boone for sewage. It is unfortunate we were unlucky enough to be at the cafe when you were already worked up from taking your aggression out on someone else. That is why the owner began interacting with us in the first place, he was apologizing that we had to listen to that and kept trying to get our attention afterwards. Since you are so confident you are in the right in this situation, I suggest uploading the video footage and audio recording you were so excited to tell us about as we tried to exit your cafe.
Also, after doing some research, Dylan Polatty is in fact the worker who sat on their phone in the cafe during this interaction. Dylan took our order and is not a customer. Though I'm not sure Dylan wrote this of their own choice, I wouldn't put it past the owner to get them to write this review...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences I've ever had with a workshop-- Partner and I signed up for a 2 hour glassblowing workshop. We get there and a guy who smells strongly of BO and weed meets us and says "he's not going to ask us our names as he won't bother remembering them". Honestly, that alone was FINE, if not for the workshop itself going so terribly; I had no experience with working with glass and he wasn't helpful at all. My partner had a little more experience so the instructor focused mostly on him, leaving me pretty much completely alone to figure out what the hell I was doing. The glass rod he had given me actually turned out to be broken and gave sharp, jagged edges, but the edges were SO sharp and the glasses they give you to protect your eyes from the light are tinted red so I ended up cutting my hand pretty bad but didn't realize until another employee (the instructor didn't notice) who came to check on me asked if I needed a bandaid. Took the glasses off to find my hand covered in blood. Ended up leaving the workshop early, it was such a...
Read moreI have been a customer at this establishment for about a year now and I have never had anything but the best service! Today in particular two people inquired on a conversation the manager was having while they were ordering. The manager disregarded the conversation, but they insisted that he tell them. After the manager explained what happened, the customer continued to engage by insulting the manager's home, and then exclaimed some harshly anti-semetic comments on topics that were not even remotely related to anything they wanted to know in the first place. Overall, it clearly seems as though the manager was being harrassed. I would also like to add the customer is an amazing human being. Not only did his girl pay for his food, and speak for him when ordering, but she also left a poor review for...
