I recently visited a coffee shop named after the adorable dog Kovu, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The place had a cozy and inviting ambiance, perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee. What truly sets Kovu's Coffee Shop apart is their attention to detail and commitment to quality. The coffee beans used were of the highest quality, resulting in a rich and flavorful cup of coffee. The seating area was comfortable and well-designed, with plenty of space to relax and unwind. Whether you're looking for a quiet corner to read a book or a communal table to catch up with friends, Kovu's Coffee Shop has got you covered. They have tons of board games, books and even a switch to play Mario kart and super smash bros!!! Super exciting! Overall, I highly recommend Kovu's Coffee Shop to all coffee lovers out there. The combination of excellent coffee, friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere make it the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of joe. So, grab your favorite book or catch up with friends, and head over to Kovu's Coffee Shop for a delightful coffee experience. You won't be disappointed!

Great coffee, great prices, friendly service. The atmosphere is cozy with plenty of space to study or relax. And you have to try the cinnamon roll. It might be the best I’ve ever eaten.

Coffee Shop No. 494 Kovu’s Coffee Boone, NC April 9, 2025 The two best words to describe Kovu’s Coffee is cozy and fun. The hubby and I felt like the old folks in the shop. It was full of young people working on their computers and reading books. You have all sorts of seating options to choose from and the shop encourages different hobbies. There’s a record room, a stage for performances, a round table to play board games and a pretty decent selection of books in the shelves. The best part is you can bring your dog to experience the coffee shop with you. Now for the important…the barista made a delicious cortado! Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

Kovu's Coffee is an important and valuable resource to the High Country community. It is easy for a business in this town to have and sell a good product. It is possible for a business to have a great team that makes people feel welcome and appreciated. It is expected that a business has thought about their space long before the customer even arrives and how they can make it a memorable experience. However, here is the part of the formula where KC gets it right. KC is among a small group of businesses in town that have been able to seamlessly blend all those dynamics together.

KC is a special place with a great and wide ranging coffee shop menu. That have a friendly, caring, attentive, and hard-working staff. They have created a nice relaxing space where people are welcome and the sole goal is to just give you a great time. Sure you could get coffee or a snack at a lot of other places, but it will not be served by owners that just want to make your day a little better than it was.

Sean and Elise are a much needed energy in our community. Kovu's Coffee is a much needed anchor in our community. Think about what makes Boone memorable or why us locals live here? The reason is because of places like KC that nail gracious hospitality over and over like they were not even trying to do it. Their drinks and coffee are well crafted. The staff's coffee and tea knowledge is ever expanding and established. KC has meeting space, outdoor seating, study and chill space. They cater to any coffee shop need you might have and the ones you haven't even thought of yet.

There is so much that this business gets right, but there is so much more they learn daily. To then turn around and use that knowledge to tweak and improve the experience even more. Shop here with confidence and know that your time spent at KC will be worth more than just the drink...

I’ll start by saying the lattes I ordered were pretty good. I believe they use Hatchet coffee’s beans. The guy that took the order was pretty nice too. I also really liked the design of the place and loved the Nintendo switch (which I assumed is for customers to play while there). I loved the albums on the wall and the music was good too. With that being said:

The main issue I had was that my daughter (a toddler) was with me and an employee came in with some friends and started talking very crass. Normally I don’t care but my daughter has picked up the F-word and the other term for butt (not using the words for obvious reasons) since this interaction. While I don’t expect customers to refrain from using language, I will say that in a small setting I’d expect the staff to remain professional. Unfortunately my daughter saw them talking about sticking stuff up their butts and dropping the F bomb multiple times and has since picked up the language.

For additional context it was me, my wife, and my daughter along with 2 other customers. It was quiet enough that you can pick up anyone’s conversation as if you were a part of it. The rooms are pretty open as well and I’d be willing to bet that everyone was aware of a toddler making car noises. We now are trying to get my daughter to stop saying those words at only 16 months old. Once again the drinks were great and the older staff were good. I just believe some correction was in order. I’ve been to many coffee shops across North Carolina and have only encountered this behavior here. I’m sure it happens at other places but I just don’t think it’s acceptable. Hopefully we just had one bad experience and it’s not the norm. By all means go check it out for yourself. The coffee is...
