Sometimes the best food is just simple. And this tiny empanada shop on Main St in Boonton is exactly that - simply damn good empanadas. We stumbled across it accidentally while in the area and decided to give it a shot. We ordered one chicken and one beef to go. Within 5 minutes, we turned ourselves around to go back and order one of every other flavor they had! These may be the best empanadas I've ever had - every single one we ate was perfectly cooked, the dough wasn't overdone or burnt, the inside filling was perfectly seasoned and served piping hot. The cutest thing was the fact that each empanada is labeled, so no confusing which one is which when they're all in the same bag together! The staff here is SO nice, I can't recommend this place enough! Stopping by here is a win-win - you get to support an amazing local business and you get to fill your belly with delicious little dough pockets...
Read moreWanted empanadas and usual spot down the street was closed on Sunday, so happened upon this place. Ordered several different kinds of empanadas beef, chicken, Cuban, and pulled pork. The good part was the crust was flaky and soft at the same time. The meats lacked flavor, the beef was bland and just had ground beef(no potatoes or any other things), chicken was ok, the Cuban meat was dry, the pulled pork tasted like bbq sauce. The empanadas were in what appeared to be a conventional oven, the outside was warm and the inside was cold. I should have asked to reheat them but it was busy. The last thing I wanted to write was I understand that business decisions are financial in nature, however the choice to charge .25 cents for chimi sauce for an $3.75 empanada where your competitors on the same street offer them included in your order will influence decisions to patronize...
Read moreBEST EMPANADAS IN BOONTON NEW JERSEY PERIOD!!! Thank God You Opened Up A Shop Here!!! For the record I'm of Cuban decent, I have had many different style empanadas and understand the difference. I was soooo excited to see the "Baked Empanadas" signage knowing that meant Argentina Style Empanadas. ((( YUM ))) Comparing your empanadas to else where in town is like comparing apples to oranges and doesn't make any sense and sounded very foolish. My Wife ordered a Chai Frappochino and it was delicious as well. We actually drove back around to picked up another two Beef Empanadas because they were so good!!! Yes, growing up in the 80's empanadas were like .50 cents; but here we are in Morris County NJ, in 2025. So $3.75 might sound like a lot to certain people, but these Empanadas are totally worth it!!! Will highly recommend around town. Last but not least, WELCOME...
