Food was good but the service and management was not great... They got our order wrong, then "ran out" of what we ordered, and forgot to take it off our bill, then had the audacity to act like it was a big deal and they were doing us a favor when we asked for the bill to be corrected. We ended up paying without the bill being corrected because the manager was being so difficult.
I almost gave it one or two stars but the food really was good... if you go here, just be aware that they don't particularly care about quality customer service. The general feel of the staff we interacted with (and especially the manager) was that they do things the way they feel like, and the customer just has to deal with it. I suppose if you go in expecting that, it's worth it for the food.

By "manager" i mean whoever was running things that day. It's been a few months now and i'm just seeing the reply, but i remember that it was a woman, and she came over after the issue became clear and was quite rude about it. She gave off the impression that she was the one in charge (she was not one of the servers or chefs, she worked behind the counter, so I suppose I just assumed she was a manager).
I also want to clarify that I understand that small restaurants run out of things, but generally I expect a suitable substitute, and I certainly do not expect to be charged for the item I did not receive.

Read moreWe put our names in and were told that we would be right after the next couple. We start seeing multiple couples before us being seated and it’s been 30 minutes already. I go inside and wait for ANOTHER 10 minutes for someone to even come over to me and he says the man in the blue shirt will help me. He says this twice before the man with the blue shirt finally comes over another 10 minutes later. It’s so chaotic in there and nobody knows what they are doing. When the man finally talks to me he says oh we already called that name. We were waiting right near the front door listening intently and our name was most definitely not called. They seat us after we’ve been waiting for another 20 minutes. Nobody comes over to the table for another 10 minutes. Finally someone comes over and says “oh has anybody helped you yet” we reply “no” and he says he’ll be right over. Another ten minutes go by and he still has not come over to help us so we decided to leave. Wish I got to try the food, but the service was so terrible I didn’t even want to give this place my money. Read moreI had breakfast with free other people yesterday morning. It was a beautiful day and we sat out on the patio. We came from a long distance and had heard just wonderful things about Mama D's. Great food and lovely atmosphere. We were lucky to be able to grab a table outside on the patio. The food was terrific and the price was more than fair with one exception and for the reason I gave this place only three stars. Our breakfast included waffles which I have to say were fantastic. Our waitress asked us if we wanted the "house syrup" or real maple syrup. We opted for the real stuff. The waitress did not let us know there was an upcharge. We did expect there would be one but six dollars for less than an ounce of real maple syrup is outrageous. That was more than half of what the breakfast cost. Charging that much for something made right here in our own state is unforgivable. If it is going to be that much of an up charge, the server absolutely should make it known...
