Vacationing in Boothbay, and at the top of our favorite restaurants is Ports of Italy, this place is not to be missed if you love Italian cuisine. Very popular with the locals and the tourists, be smart and make a reservation, especially over the weekend so you will not be disappointed. They are open 7 days a week 4:30-8:00. We had an early reservation and was taken to our table and immediately approached by our waiter, given water, he told us the specials and gave us time to look over the menu. We received a paper bag of warm, delicious rustic bread and olive oil dipping sauce, so good. After ordering, our food arrived in a timely fashion right from the kitchen. I ordered the veal ravioli in a mushroom cream sauce, let me tell you my choice was just delicious and very rich and filling. Husband ordered Osso Buco sitting on top of a rich broth and risotto, what a great presentation and my husband enjoyed it tremendously! Our waiter was very attentive to us and good at his job. The busboys were so nice and took good care of our needs. This place is a cut above the rest and they are popular and have a cult following!! Highly recommend coming here, a little pricey but so worth the experience. Bob and Debbie/ Mich

My young daughter and I had dinner here tonight spontaneously. Since we didn’t have reservations we were sat at the bar which was fine. We both noticed stares from the manager and waitstaff…not sure why but pretty sure they were talking about us….maybe we weren’t dressed as nice as everyone else? I certainly can afford to eat there…The Bartender was wonderful, she served us a delicious margarita and Shirley Temple. We ordered the Caprese salad for an appetizer and it was so delicious! It was served in a shell made out of Parmesan cheese so you could eat the whole thing! My daughter ordered homemade wide pasta noodles with a bolognese meat sauce and I had to squid ink pasta with clams, muscles, shrimp and calamari. Both meals were delicious. Fast and friendly service. Great atmosphere (except for the earlier stares) with the windows open and fresh air flowing through. Perfect June evening!

We have dined here twice over the past couple years and loved it. We recommended it to a couple we are sailing with, and reserved in the "Open Air Dining Room" on Resy fully expecting it to be in the large covered porch-like room. But no, the regular dining room with partially open windows, and wide openings into the porch (thus another room full of people, not the outdoors). Tables in the dining room were not socially distanced. In the photo, the large porch is on the right, and the regular not-open-air-dining room is on the left with the windows. After the host tried and failed to convince us that the main dining room is "open air" in an argumentative tone we left. VERY dishonest listing in Resy thus undeserving of my business. Beware if you intend to stay safe in this tourist town this year. (Note how much ownership cares per their response.)

Olivia rocked it!!!! Our glasses were never empty. She would sneak in fill the water and sneak out. She was there filling our needs and we are needy!! There were 8 of us. She took our drink order came right back and told us about the specials. Took Appetizer order. The eggplant rollatini (3 rolls). The eggplant was paper thin stuffed with gooeyness. The sauce was excellent. The caprese salad was a beautiful presentation. It was also very good. The Osso Buccos was good but a little on the dry side. The Risotto was cooked perfectly with the best flavor. Linguini and clam sauce was excellent!! The broth was so flavorful. There was enough sauce to soak it up with the bread. The Gnocchi were little fluffy pillows of deliciousness. The sauce rocked. This restaurant is a definite return and to tell everyone about.

The owner / manager is the rudest person I have ever dealt with. We had reservations for 8:30, we arrived at 7:30 to have a glass of wine with friends who have never been to Maine. We let him know we were early so they knew we were there. He told us to leave and come back later. We tried to order a bottle of wine to enjoy on the patio while we waited. Couldn’t get a bartender to even look at us. Then the owner/Mgr said just leave and come back at 8:30. A waiter had to come in between us to calm things down. A waiter speaking for the owner/Mgr. Something wrong there???? We are T the Resturant in Boothbay last night and spent $800. NEVER AGAIN!!! Of course they blame Covid. Piss poor planning lead to ousspior performance. What a joke.
