Log Cabin Shoes — Local services in Boothbay Harbor

Beware of Log Cabin Shoes, I purchased a pair of Merrell Vibram shoes from Log Cabin Shoes in Boothbay Harbor, Maine on Tuesday, June 7. The second day I wore the shoes I noticed the stiching on big toe side of the right shoe was coming apart. I went back to Log Cabin Shoes and they said they would look for a replacement, and that I should come back another day. I went back to Log Cabin Shoes several days later and they said they did not have a replacement shoe, and there was nothing they could do. I went several more times asking to speak with the owner, but to no avail. The fifth time I went back I asked for $20 to have the shoe repaired. Log Cabin Shoes said no, there was nothing they could do.

I do not believe this store represents or reflects the best interests of the Boothbay Harbor business community. There complete lack of customer service and disregard for “making good” a clearly defective product is not conducive to a positive visitor/vacationer experience. They clearly saw me as “temporary customer” on vacation, and they intentional “strung-me-along” knowing I would eventually go away. This experience has soured an otherwise joyful three week visit to your town...
