I needed to contact them about my order, because I was so disappointed. I needed to calories, that is the only reason I ate. I have had horrible customer service before but amazing food that more than made up for it. This was not one of those times.

I ordered online and when I arrived he wasn't finished packing my order and looked annoyed to see me. I HAVE NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE. He was supposed to be assisting me (Balding, older, scruffy facial hair, a bit heavy around the middle) but decided to engage in conversation with this black guy whose order was already nicely packaged on the counter, the top even folded over and stapled. After he laughed along with the rude and lewd comments made towards me by said tall husky black patron in sweats, he then handed this tall man his packaged food and the tall husky dude leaves. I was annoyed, but I hadn't eaten, and already had a safety issue this evening with the previous Uber I took to get there because of the Redline being down. I thought maybe, I am overreacting to gross male behavior because of previous gross male behavior. He waves at me to get my drink from the refrigerator section, and I do. I notice all of the mango drinks are turned backwards with their labels facing in. He makes a point to look me in the eye as he drops the rest of the food into the bag and puts a haphazard staple at the top. I still say thank you and leave.

I realize as a queer woman who is femme presenting and wearing an item clearly identifying me, maybe that was his problem? The problems only continued with the food.

Kafta Kabob Plate Choice of 1st Side: French Fries: Soggy, but decent flavor. Choice of 2nd Side: Side Salad: Fine. The beef from my Kafta plate was chewy and only one piece was seasoned well. Maybe it was not mixed well enough? Verdict: SKIP

2 x Falafel (3 Pieces With Hummus): The greens in with the hummus were supper salty and I could not eat them. One of the hummus' that came with the falafel was runny and salty. The falafel differed in size and texture significantly. It was like I wasn't eating from the same shop. Verdict: SKIP. Toss up. A couple were good the rest barely had flavor.

1 x Mango Juice: My mango drink after one sip made my tongue itch and tingle. I grew up eating mango, and drinking mango juice. That is not normal! I am going to have to pour it down the drain. I would appreciate having my falafel side and mango drink refunded. Verdict: SKIP

Verdict: SKIP. DID NOT LIVE UP TO...

My family and I visited this restaurant (for the millionth time) this past weekend. The man at the counter was extremely disrespectful. He was getting mad at us for making 2 simple changes to our order BEFORE we had even paid! It's not like we paid and everything went through and then we changed things on him. I even apologized profusely to him for causing him any inconvenience or confusion, even though I'm the customer! I actually had to ask him to not be so upset with me as I am simply trying to get my family's food order right. At this point my wife said we should leave, but I didn't want to make him upset or make a scene. He later got mad at my sister when she was grabbing drinks from the fridge. He was annoyed that she grabbed the cold drink bottles in the back, so he angrily went over to the fridge and rearranged everything to his liking right in front of her. I couldn't believe his blatant rudeness. During a time that is right after the pandemic hit Boston hard, restaurants should be doing their best to keep their business running and their diners pleased. After we picked up the food and were ready to head out, I asked him to give us some napkins. He literally gave me 2 napkins: one, two. I asked for some more napkins for my party that is 5 people and he was annoyed AGAIN! At this point I had to leave the restaurant right away to keep my cool. My sister took the time to explain to him that he was rude to us since we placed the order. My family and I are never returning to this establishment and I don't recommend that anyone waste their time. Unfortunately we had to eat the food afterwards since we had paid so much for it, but we didn't enjoy a single bite because we were so worked up. It felt like we were eating air. We had to go grab dinner again from somewhere else just a couple of hours later. We used to love this place and we would visit every time we were in town. All it takes is one bad experience for us to decide to never go back again. Poor food and service quality. There are plenty of delicious and halal options in Boston to enjoy. Do yourself a favor and don't...

We had quite a disappointing dinner at a hotel restaurant and left hungry so we had to look for somewhere else to eat. Black Seed Cafe & Grill was one of the very few eateries that open late at night so we went there given it’s high ratings. We were so impressed by the food, actually the best chicken on rice we ever had. The food was 10 times better than the hotel dinner we had prior. Wished I took photos but was too hungry. Chicken pieces were juicy and chunky. Rice was excellent, had a nice Al dente texture to it and they use a short grain (brown rice?) that gives such a nice texture. Wonderfully flavoured. Salad was super fresh and not the typical shredded lettuce — the mixed salad contains dark leafy greens, cucumber cubes, capsicum etc. I don’t usually eat salads but I finished every bit here. The meal left me craving for more! Went to the famous kebab food cart in NYC but I felt this was way better although it’s slightly pricier. Baklava was super nice too. Highly...

Healthy late night food offerings near Boston Commons. While looking for places that were open at midnight on Christmas, I was fortunate to find out that this place was open. Got a mix of the lamb and the chicken kabob with a side of garlic sauce, and it was definitely a great alternative to other late night fast food. Chicken was mostly consisted of dry chicken breast meat, and it was almost impossible to eat it without any drink or sauce. The lamb kabob on the other hand, was reasonably tender, and it went really well with the rice pilaf. The dish also comes with a side of small salad which was decent. Highly recommend checking out their lamb kabob dish if you’re looking for good food after midnight, and don’t forget to get some extra sauce on the side.

Food was delicious! We tried Black seed based off a recommendation and glad we had it. Good seating available and service was great. Employees were really helpful and brought our order to us when it was ready. We went with the shawarma chicken and rice plate and a chicken kabob and rice plate. It comes with salad and garlic sauce for the chicken. The sauce was delicious, and the rice was so soft and fluffy. The chicken was very flavorful and delicious. Salad was great too and came with dressing. For the price it’s a lot of food and we had leftovers which was convenient. Location is right next to Boston commons as well which makes easy to stop by!

Most authentic Middle Eastern food I've found in greater Boston so far. I moved here from Dearborn over a year ago which is practically a mini Middle East (heck, a local falafel restaurant gets their baklava shipped in from Shatila in Dearborn). I'm also Arab so I grew up on this food. This is now my go to place for arabic food. We got the mixed grill (white containers) and the falafel plate (black container), both of which were absolutely delicious. Someone else mentioned it is the best falafel in Boston and my husband and I concur. Not dry at all, and so full of flavor. The portions are also great for the price. 100% recommend this place.
