I used to be one of the biggest fans of Bono, telling all of my friends about this great restaurant in my neighborhood. I can show you my Toast history, I would order from Bono twice a week on average. But 2 weeks ago, I had a horrible experience and I think Bono has lost my business and I would not be telling anyone to go to this place. I came around 530pm, noticed the 50% off on appetizers, confirmed with 2 different workers (a waitress, and someone who seemed to be a manager) about what items I can get the discount on. But when it came to the bill, they refused to honor the discount. The waitress, who was maybe not the most fluent in English but was at least communicating with us during the order process, acted like she spoke no English when we were trying to ask her about the bill. She finally called the manager and they produced some different menu saying you did not order from this which is where you get the discount, EVEN THOUGH WE HAD CHECKED WITH HIM EARLIER ABOUT THE SPECIFIC DISH WE ORDERED. I was in a group of 10 people, and the discount would have changed maybe $20 in a combined bill of ~$250, a small difference that should not matter either way. But I was frankly appalled at the way they treated me and my friends, and went back on their word. As a business, I think you have failed if your customer is leaving unhappy. I will not be coming to or ordering from Bono again and the same goes for all my friends.
I hope you can get your priorities straight in the future and figure out what matters more to you, $20 on one bill or the entire future business of someone who used to spend $150 per...
Read moreEDIT: They think they can strong arm their customers into changing their reviews. Or was it me mentioning them overcharging people?
After leaving this original review for 4/5 stars over being overcharged (which apparently has been happening for awhile before I noticed), I was cornered by the owners who were quite upset and aggressive about the four stars review. The prices are still unchanged, nor is there any sign or a warning that the prices are, in reality, higher. So they kept overcharging people and continue to do so, but they do not see past me being a problem "for not talking to them first". When I tried to say that I actually tried to talk to her when she charged me a higher price, she just kept aggressively talk over.
I thought I was being quite nice during the whole encounter, but their final "we do not need customer like you" sealed the deal.
The problem is that now I am not sure what type of customer they want: The one who does not leave honest and objective reviews (even positive)? The one who submits to their censorship and guilt tripping? The one is ok with being overcharged or too busy to figure it out? The one not knowing her rights? The true colors came off over a 4-star review. Crazy.

Read moreI can’t say enough about Bono Restaurant and Catering. The food is absolutely delicious authentic Mexican, Salvadoran, and Colombian dishes that are bursting with flavor. I tried the Empanadas, chicharrones, Bandeja paisa, etc and was blown away by how fresh and tasty everything was. The drinks were just as impressive, with a great selection that complemented the food perfectly plus a wonderful bartender/waitress in Claudia.
What really sets this place apart is the owner Fernando. You can tell he truly cares about the experience for customers. From the warm welcome to checking in with us throughout the meal, it’s clear that he values their customers and take pride in what they do. It makes the whole visit feel personal and special.
If you’re craving authentic Latin flavors, amazing drinks, and genuine hospitality, I highly recommend Bono Restaurant and Catering. I’ll definitely be...
