To say Casarecce was good would be downright disrespectful. To say it was fantastic still wouldn’t be close. Germando, our fantastic waiter, could get me another fresh bowl of soft homemade bread before I could even fathom a word to explain how good my experience at Casarecce was. As soon as I was pulled into this fine fine establishment I could tell that there was a different energy in this restaurant then I have felt during my stay in Boston. We were sat at a table faster than we could take in the beauty. Immediately we were served with water. And as soon as Germando brought out our bread and I tasted it, there was a smile on my face that still hasn’t been wiped off even to the point of me writing this and checking over what I have written. Germando was the best waiter I have had in all the time I can remember of my time being a professional reviewer, not to toot my own horn but I have a review with over 700 views. I sat there anxiously reviewing the menu to determine what fine dish I would order. I personally decided on the Casarecce Chicken Vodka. When Germando came to take my order, I was a little flustered with the fancy word “Casarecce” however Germando personally taught me how to say the word, and sorry for tooting my horn so often but I am now a professional Casarecce sayer. I returned to my bread while waiting for my food but before I could say Casarecce, Germando was standing at my table strongly declaring that my Chicken Alla Vodka was ready for me to enjoy. To say I was excited for my food would be an understatement. My expectations were high. But when I tried that homemade, handrolled Casarecce noodle my expectations were blown. Out. Of. The. Water. I instantly wanted more and ran to dig into my chicken, also amazing. I had an amazing experience of sitting and devouring my food, whilst watching Germando present the other table with the wine they had ordered, he made it look incredible. As I ate my meal, I knew the other dishes would be just as good and I ran to scape some food from my fellow patrons plates. As you can probably expect, their plates were absolutely incredible. BUT WAIT THERES MORE. The one time my attention left my fantastic plate was when a lady, let’s just say she didn’t come for the gnocchi, she came for the vibes and left with the water glass (literally), she was quite the ravioli rambler, walked in and started yelling, the leaders of the fine establishment were so gracious that they even decided to offer a seat and a place in their restaurant to her. She yelled many profanity’s, but don’t worry my Casarecce chicken vodka calmed me down. This lady was making quite the ruckus and was being very rude to my fellow restrauntgoers, however Germando never wavered. Immediately Germando identified the threat she posed to me and my family (Germando brought me and the other customers so close together that I can confidently call them family and I know they would do the same) Germando offered her an ultimatum that he would call the cops if she did not remove herself from the establishment. Germando had such a commanding presence that she knew he was standing on business and she left. After, I finished every last drop of my food, water, and bread and trust me it was delicious. They quickly brought out the bill and I sadly had to leave. I am very saddened to know that I will not be able to experience this again until my next visit to Boston, but I hope I can inspire others to run and have this once in a lifetime experience. I need to go and think about my meal so all I have to leave you with is go visit Casarecce and go...

We visited Casarecce hoping for a good meal, but unfortunately left extremely disappointed. While my son’s pasta carbonara was decent, the rest of the experience fell far short of expectations.
From the start, the staff were uncooperative and unhelpful with regards to my mobility scooter, offering no assistance and showing little interest in making the experience accessible or comfortable. Service throughout was cold and inattentive—we felt like an inconvenience rather than customers.
I ordered the chicken parmigiana, which was honestly the worst I’ve had. The “chicken breast” was gristly, the tomato sauce bland and uninspired, the pasta overcooked, and the whole dish barely held together with a bit of cheese on top (see photo - it’s terrible).
When the bill arrived—over $100 for three basic pasta dishes and two lemonades—I was stunned. That price might be expected in a fine dining restaurant, but here it felt like three times what the meal was worth. To make matters worse, we were charged for bread we didn’t order.
We paid the exact amount in cash—multiple notes—but the waiter came over, swept the money off the table wordlessly, and walked away without so much as a “thank you” or “have a nice day.” As we struggled to get the mobility scooter out (again, no help offered), the same waiter returned and snapped, “The bill didn’t include service,” in a tone that was more demand than reminder.
Frankly, if you serve overpriced food of poor quality with disinterested and rude service, don’t expect a tip. We won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others—especially if accessibility, hospitality, or value matter to you.
Edit in response to the owner’s reply:
I stand by every word of my review. The waiting staff did absolutely nothing to assist me with my mobility scooter beyond telling me to “put it in the corner” — there was no smile, no welcome, and it was clear we were not made to feel comfortable. At no point at the end of the meal did anyone ask whether there was anything wrong, nor did anyone fill my water bottle. The only parting comment from the waiter was, “The bill doesn’t include service,” delivered in a highly accusatory tone.
I was already reeling from the price — the highest cost-to-quality ratio I’ve ever experienced for a meal, and I eat out often. My review is honest and consistent with the pattern in many other one-star reviews here, which highlight similar issues with food, service, pricing, and attitude. I happily leave positive reviews for great food and service, but equally believe it’s important to warn others about experiences that fall well short. The food here was very poor, highly overpriced and the service was bad. If the staff are reliant on tips, perhaps the owner should pay them a working wage for their service rather than the appalling concept of making them reliant on tips alone. If the owner does not like multiple reviews saying the same thing, they need to put effort into addressing the issues rather than just denying them- that’s a clear sign of...
Read moreWalked into this place last night after flipping a coin to see whether or not to eat here or the place across the street. All the Italian places in this tourist trap of a corner get good reviews so we figured, what do we have to lose but our hard earned cash? Turns out our dignity also.
I should have left when the waiter had as much charisma as a T-1000 trying to find John Connor. I felt like he was trying to locate his next victim whilst serving us. On top of that, the service was robotically quick which gave me the vibe the food was not only ready made in the back but they wanted us in and out as quickly as possible.
The food - Bad. I sent a photo to my Sicilian friend and he said 'Why is this so greasy/watery, looks like chef boyardee' - and he's right, it was both greasy and watery at the same time. Much like Marky Mark role in the movie Deepwater Horizon, is this just a Boston thing I don't understand?
But yeah the food was acidic and bland. We ordered the Lasagne and the Lamb Ragu, both contained barely any meat and were served with the efficiency of a chef who has 6 microwaves on the go in the back. I'm glad they gave us free stale bread to mop up the water from our plates. I'm pretty sure they hid the fact my lasagne had no meat inside of it by pouring some boring sauce all over the top.
People talk that the pasta here is fresh - This i can say is true. The pasta here is good. But I mean, that is the bare minimum you'd expect surely? It's a shame that everything else added on top of the raw pasta lacked any kind of finesse. The food had the energy of a man who has given up years ago.
When we walked in, some weirdo's had written JESUS SAVES and bible stuff all over the paper table cloth and left a terrible tip. I know now why this happened as I also wanted to meet god and ask him why such a terrible experience had befallen me and my beautiful wife.
The only good thing I can say about this tourist trap of a machine restaurant that left me feeling like I had spent the evening eating out the inside of a dishwasher from a much nicer establishment is that the wine was good. It's a shame it was served by somebody who had the charisma of an autistic man counting down grains of sand in his head waiting to get back to his model train set.
All in all - Over priced, bland food and bad atmosphere. Everyone eating in the place had big boomer energy like you could show them an AI picture of an old lady with a cake that says shes 10000 years old and they'd believe...
