🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🗣 Warning🗣 🚨🚨🚨🚨 Oh my. They serve “pet tripe” here. The Mondongo should not have black hairs in it. Only pet tripe/mondongo that has not been cleaned correctly has this. Look it up. I informed the y’all man about this and he refused to give me my money back even after I showed him all the hairs stuck in the tripe. Do not go to this place he took 12 bucks and couldn’t change the soup for something else. Do not ever ever ever eat here they are nasty!!!! But the owner said this is normal. Umm no it’s not! If your feeding humans this is not acceptable!!!

I would say that what you have is simply a piece of tripe that got buy inspection. However, many meat packers depending on the value that they can get selling fresh cleaned tripe vs. un-scalded tripe (pet food tripe) will sometimes switch production to washed tripe for pet food. It is then boxed in waxed line boxes and blast frozen. If by some reason a box of this tripe got diverted to edible tripe then that is a serious issue.

There has to be a big spread between the value of inedible tripe vs. edible tripe because the cost to process edible tripe is so much greater. So when the spread isn't there packers will go to inedible or...

I've come here plenty times and love it. The food is authentic & delicious. The atmosphere is very nice. You can either sit, drink a beer & relax or listen to music & dance. The place is a bit small but it doesn't bother me. The only downside is sometimes certain foods weren't available. There was one time, I wanted morcilla. There was none available. I had drove from Roxbury to Boston just for it. The guy felt bad & didn't want to disappoint so he quickly made us some. Our 1st time here, We had arrived around 8pm Saturday night which I gather is party time. I was feeling a bit out of place and I wasn't sure they were serving food bc nobody was eating! It was like walking in a Puerto Rican party. People were mingling, dancing and playing dominos! It's a small place so we made our way through the crowd to the cashier to ask if they sold food, which they do, so we placed a large order, drank a few Corona, and we waited.
