I had to write another review since we recently went to a Act 3, at Extra Dirty Cocktails. This one had a title of "Backyard Barbecue". As usual, we were greeted at the door and taken to back of the Red Fox restaurant behind a heavy curtain into a speak easy bar/booth atmosphere. Phil, the brain child of this once in a lifetime experience, along with his talented bartenders, put together a great night for everyone. Aida was our guide for our night experience. She was so accommodating and knowledgeable of the "tapas" and cocktails. We were graced with her presence as she normally is at the sister location, Farmacia.
The 1st cocktail consisted of mineral water, lemon, vodka (I think) and some other ingredients. It was called "the pony". So refreshing. My husband and b-i-l chose the "whiskey flight", which they were all over. This was an excellent introduction to the evening. A farm fresh baratta salad with tomatoes, peaches, strawberries, sesame seeds, honey and balsamic glaze graced our table. It was just as refreshing as the drinks.
The 2nd cocktail was a "watermelon swizzle" which came with a watermelon wedge, in a classic "red" steel cup with ice. It was like an alcoholic snow cone!! So tasty. My husband and b-i-l chose a kind of alcoholic iced tea similar to an Arnold Palmer, but better. Theirs came with "Voodoo" potatoe chips. The potato chips had a southern seasoning as well as a salt and vinegar flavor. Also a pan of jalapeno cornbread was placed on the table which paired perfectly with our drinks.
The 3rd drink was so unusual that I had to try it. It was called "fried green tomatoes" martini. They made the flavoring of the martini with their own simmered fried green tomatoes. It was so different it was delicious. My husband and b-i-l chose a pink cocktail, I believe was a whiskey with some flavoring. It was very delicious as well. This time we received a bowl of ribs and a pasta salad with pancetta and ziti noodles. The flavor of the pancetta and the drinks paired so well together.
The last drink (4th) we had was either a key lime margarita with a graham cracker crumble on top or a coffee whiskey drink. Both were off the hook. A dessert of homemade peach sorbet was the last dish, which of course ended the night on a refreshing note.
The relaxing atmosphere, in addition to the superb service (our water glasses were always full and the "tapas" menu never was delayed) made for a phenomenal evening. This would be an excellent place to take a first date, a well needed "date night" or a group of friends to enjoy drinks, food and company. Don't sleep on this experience! It's an "all inclusive" night, so leave your...
Read moreWe attended an event that was designed around cocktails paired with food, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The cocktails were truly exceptional—beautifully crafted, balanced in flavor, and presented with creativity. Each one felt unique, and you could tell a lot of thought went into the mixology. The food was good and complemented the drinks well. While the cocktails were clearly the highlight of the evening, the pairings showed intention and added to the overall experience. The ambiance of the venue was fantastic—stylish yet comfortable. The atmosphere really enhanced the enjoyment of both the drinks and the food. Service was another pleasant surprise. The staff were attentive, friendly, and seemed genuinely invested in making sure guests had a great time. Everything felt smooth and well organized, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a memorable event that we’d be happy to recommend, especially for anyone who appreciates great cocktails in a lively and...
Read moreThis was one of the best experiences you can have in Boston. It is a well tailored drink menu that changes every month with food to accompany it. The staff takes you along this journey. The best part is it is not a set list for the drinks, you are allowed to choose what you like and even come back to the ones you like. When we went we had 4 drinks, 3 savory dishes and one dessert. Started out with a champagne drinks that set the tone for the whole meal along with a Brussels salad. Then I choose to get a spicy tequila cocktail which was poured over ice cream. It came with the second dish, a large meatball. The third for me was a layered gin drink with botanicals and the food we received was an amazing pasta. Finally I wasn’t a fan of the dessert cocktails so ended up getting an amaro flight with tiramisu ice cream. Paying before the meal feels like we had all the time to enjoy the drinks and food while catching up till...
