Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park — Attraction in Boston

I was impressed with this park because there is so much to 🙈 see! The harbor view, the Trellis, the Beirut Memorial, Rose Kennedy Garden with the water fountain ⛲, but where is Christopher Columbus? His pedestal is there but he is gone baby gone! He was "decorated", had comments posted on him, literally, beheaded and has finally moved to a new 🆕 home. The Park has its own Wikipedia page 📄 and is considered the start of the Boston Irish Heritage Trail. The creation and idea 💡 for the park has at least two different accounts. The Massachusetts State Council of the Knights of Columbus devoloped the park and named it after their patron, Christopher Columbus. In 1967, the Council had voted to establish a non-profit corporation whose goal 🥅 was to construct affordable housing. Another account is that Frank S. Christian, a local 🏦 banker, had planned the Park to be named Waterfront Park while developing the effort for the park's construction 🚧. The account continues that Authur Stivaletta, considered a local provocateur, and with the approval of Boston Mayor Kevin White, the park was named after Christopher Columbus. Kevin White had the recent support from the Italian American community of Boston in his bid for reelection as mayor. It is a well maintained and active park with minimal litter 🚮. The recreation center is truly pleasant by tall tale town entrance. There is a lot of stopping there as well. There is a lake which is totally perfect amid fall.

You will be encompassed by trees, plants, lake, duck, goose, and zen.

The recreation center is incredible for run around the outside of it. The recreation center is likewise awesome for individuals to lease some portion of it and host a bbq or birthday festivity by the open air tables.

There are unique occasions consistently. For example, banana celebrations, off the network occasions, 5k runs, and that's just the beginning.

my family and I had a great day there. One thing happened that kind of soured it for us though: this guy cornered us, grabbed our hands, and put these bracelets on our wrists. My husband, me, and my 11 year old son. Then he handed us a little book to sign. When we politely declined to give him money and tried to give the bracelets back, he demanded over and over that we give him $20. We tried to say no, we didn’t want the bracelets and didn’t have the money to give him, but he kept asking us (including my child) for money and looked inside our wallets when we had them out to show him we had no cash. He came on way too strong.

Aside from that, the little shops are reasonably priced, friendly people run them, and everything was well run and we had no other complaints. I just felt the need to point out what happened so people can be vigilant of people like this and not fall for it.
