The best way to describe this concept is like a buffet in reverse. You walk up fill your bowl with raw products and bring it to the giant circled grill to be cooked. You walk the line with a bowl and you fill that bowl with any raw ingredients you want. From vegetables to few variety of pasta types. Various Protein choices to choose from ( steak, different types of marinated chicken, seafood that included salmon, swordfish, tilapia, shrimp, clams and scallops ) you chose the pieces you want some are cut smaller than others. Sauce bar has various sauces and topping you add in a side bowl. Then you bring up your products where a team of three cooks going circle and cook your meal for you. Once done they place it on the plate and you go back to your table and enjoy. You can go up as many times as you want to get your ingredients and have them cooked. They do have a salad bar as well. The staff did a nice job keeping the counters clean and utensils in the right product. It’s always difficult when you have general public creating cross contamination by not applying common sense with utensils even tho each dish had their own but the staff was on top of it that day. With all that being said we had a great experience. Food was great and service was excellent. Waitress did a nice job explaining the concept to us first timers and was not over the top attentive, was just right. We ordered calamari as appetizer and it was great and fresh. I thought they were reasonably priced and would definitely recommend and visit this restaurant again in the future.

I had an amazing experience at FiRE+iCE. It was my first time going. Once you have been seated, you can go up to the line to create your own personalized food combination in a bowl. Be careful because you can overflow your bowl quickly as there are so many different pasta, veggies, and protein options to choose from. Before you bring your bowl up to the hibachi table/counter, make sure to stop by the sauce station to select your sauce(s) to complete the flavor profile you are trying to achieve for your dish. There are a lot of sauce options to select from, too. Once at the hibachi counter, the chef will go around to take your bowl creations to cook right in front of you. It's super cool to watch the process. Once your food is cooked, they plate it for you and hand you your creation to go sit at your table and enjoy. If you look at the wall hangings, they also include some recipe option ideas for you to try if you are unsure of what you'd like. Another neat thing is that you can create as many bowls as you would like if you are still hungry! I would highly recommend trying this place if you are in the area and looking for a cool and different dining experience. This would be a perfect first date idea to try too!

Updated review (1 star just for the sauce options): Visited here on my birthday in September with my husband after traveling all the way from Seattle just because of how many sweet memories and the lovely experience I had had here previously, but clearly the server assigned to us this time was more interested in flirting with other lady servers than actually doing his job. Despite mentioning the fact that it was my birthday and that we were there for a special occasion all the grand response we got from him was just a grunt. He could not get away soon enough from our table to get back to his flirting. Not only did he have us waiting forever to get us our cards (vegetarian), he really could not be bothered with answering our questions either. I know that this location makes a big deal out of birthdays because it was also someone else's birthday (it was not a kid, we checked because my husband really wanted to celebrate my birthday in Boston and make it special this year) on the same day, at the same time and the staff celebrated it and made a big deal of it. Pathetic experience. I have taken several people here and recommended even more despite moving away from Boston, but no more of that. I am done with this place!! Old review (4 star, given in 2019): Separate grill for vegetarians and if you have an allergy, just mention, they will take care of it during food preparation. Been here several times, love it!

** Beware of the rude staff ** We were a group of 9 confirmed for a reservation at 08:30 PM on Dec 2, 2021. Our server NEVER did give us a heads-up that they "close" the grill at 09:00 PM. We only started our first round when we saw them packing the food and closing. Never did our server come to us, asking if everything was OK before they closed. In fact, when I went to confirm whether we'll be able to get another round of food, I remember the manager (Robert) and a staff member saying, "We close at 9. Have a good night!" "HAVE A GOOD NIGHT"? Is that what you, as a manager/staff, say to your customers who are still half way through their dinner (let alone their pending billing process) ? I admit the food was amazing and stocked nicely, however, Robert the manager absolutely lost us as future customers by his substandard etiquette of wrapping up our dinner in a matter of minutes. On top of all this, he just offered a discount of a price of 2 diners and 1 drink out of 9 diners and 3 drinks. I think the manager came up with a nominal discount as a decoy to get us wrapped up quick in spite of a half-filled tummy. Guys, I'd recommend this place with 100% caution on the staff (including the manager) and staying alert about your meal cooking time (since no one else is going to remind you).

Update: visited a few more times since my initial review 6 months ago, but seems nothing changed. The employees at the host station more interested in their phones and facebook than anything else; bathrooms are filthy and extremely dark; serve is still slow. One time our party got charge full dinner price for 7 y.o. kid, that we noticed after we paid and left, we weren’t going back, but I feel like it’s just pure stealing. On the most recent visit salad station looked empty with barely 1/4 filled bowls and a few drops of oil left in the bottle. Food is still good, but all those little moments make me not want to come back. —————————- I wanted to like my visit (we’ve been here before the renovation and were looking forward to come back), BUT Starting from the host station: no greeting, we had take the lead and say how many of us and we would like to dine in. The service was very mediocre, we waited for the beer around 10-15 minutes, it arrived barely cold, the side of mayo that we asked for never arrived, the side of rice took so long that we started thinking they grow it to order. The half of my noodles fried with vegetables and meat turned into crispy chip. Also not all the vegetables looked fresh and desirable, bean sprouts (that I was going for) looked like they’ve seen better days.

We have been to fire and ice many times and specifically this location too. Only for brunch on Sundays though. If you come before 1130 it won't be packed, but it starts getting busy from 1130 onwards and if you have a big party without a reservation you might have to wait, so a reservation if you have more than 3 in your party is recommended. Coming early also makes it so when you go get your stuff to be grilled and when you go to the grill station, it's not packed so you don't have to wait behind other people. After 12, be prepared to wait at all stations.. pancakes, omelettes or lunch ingredients. When you gather your ingredients don't over pack your bowl as you will want to make at least 2 trips, if not 3 and if you put to much you will end up with a lot of food and be too full to try everything else. I tend to stay with a small omelette, then a small pancake which we usually share with my wife and then some stir fry. It's great for the price of brunch but prepare your dishes with your mind, not your stomach :p Overall I really like this place, but they really should something about their restrooms as they don't seem to take good care of them. Other than that, we always enjoy it here.
