Glasser is my neighborhood coffee shop, and after 15 years of living in Boston, it is easily my favorite. While their coffee is exceptional, there are other independent coffee shops in Boston that serve a high-quality brew; the vibes are what put Glasser above the rest. The shop has a cute aesthetic and they play good music. There is a sidewalk patio in the warmer months. The staff are warm and welcoming, knowledgeable, accommodating and, above all, apparently content. I don't know anyone who works there personally, but having worked in coffee shops myself, I don't see any of the red flags that would indicate to me that staff are being treated poorly or stretched too thin.
For example, pickup and delivery orders can be placed online through their website, on doordash, or caviar. They do not take orders over the phone, which is a good thing. This may seem small, and I am sure some consumers will find it irritating, but I appreciate a healthy boundary. Some businesses, especially large commercial coffee shops, will take orders with up to 4 separate apps in addition to the phone and in-person. It becomes unmanageable. You start to hear the phone and apps chiming in your dreams (well, nightmares) and, in my opinion, no service job should be giving its employees trauma. I guess the bar is kind of on the floor when you consider the state of service work these days, but Glasser seems to raise it up to where it ought to be. The day that I called to place an order and they told me I had to go on their website was the day that I fell in love with this business.
These are just my observations. I could be wrong, but if that's the case, then their staff are real service industry pros, exuding confidence, competence, and warmth. Keep taking care of your crew! Happy, familiar faces are what make customers...
Read moreI love small & mighty Glasser — the coffee, espresso and tea drink selections are top notch. I especially enjoy their seasonal beverages and their mocha (with house-made chocolate sauce) is one of the best I’ve ever had imho. The breakfast tacos with bacon and spicy mayo are so delicious, and you can make them vegan, too (one of several vegan menu options.) I almost always take my drinks & food to go, but they do have seating options inside and a sizable patio area out front in the warmer seasons.
To top it all off, every single barista is friendly and knowledgeable, making everyone feel welcome and well taken care of. Definitely a testament to the ownership’s & management’s priorities. Don’t...
Read moreWOW. WOW. WOW. The tacos and coffee are full of AMAZING flavor! (I'm Mexican-American from LA--I know about the taco game.)
I got a matcha rose latte and it was absolutely delightful and sweet--not bitter! :)
The lil' tacos with egg, potatoes, cheese, and your choice of black bean & corn salsa OR bacon drizzled with spicy mayo, garnished with cilantro and black sesame seeds brought me SO much joy and FLAVOR!
This some fancy LA Taco truck sh**. Big ups and much love to the Kim's who are killin' it with the grand opening of this cafe. (I don't know them, but I'm so grateful they're here!)
100% of the staff was super friendly, warm and welcoming. A+++
