Jeanie Johnston Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Boston

I dont wanted to do this. I been going to this bar for a while now, I invite my friends over, I spend my money and tip bartenders well, I give nothing but benefits, as a patron, to this place. I been feeling uncomfortable lately, the tall blonde bartender' does not like me, I know it because her friend has assaulted while I wasplaying darts with a friend, to the point I has to stop and give the board to her intoxicated friend. I ended apologizing to avoid problems. But the curiosity is that last night I was given water without a logical explanation while this woman's supervision. Her problems are personal, because she yelled out loud at me when trying to leave" you're not coming back" when I refused water, and indeed, I've got my money I can go and spendit anywhereI want in Boston. They believe they're the owners because privileges, food and drinks. There's many characters in this bar that has have antagonized this place to the ground. Not coming...

Saturday night karaoke DJ is really creepy towards women, first of all. He just shuffles the songs around in the order he wants them, and when I asked when he thought our song would come up, he started screaming in my face. My friend went up to him later and said that she saw him shuffling songs, and he flipped out in a nonsensical rant about how we were being “disrespectful” and that’s how he runs things. He was telling her to stop yelling at him when he was the one yelling (which was kinda funny), and the bouncer just watched us without stepping in, which proves we weren’t actually being bothersome. Agree with other reviewers who have mentioned him being racist: it’s obvious why we were being targeted by him. The bar is ok I guess, but avoid this DJ. It's a nice down to earth neighborhood pub, conveniently located on a main street. Pretty good bar, decent food for a pub, at very reasonable prices. Comfortable seating, clean restrooms. We enjoyed a comedy show on a winter Saturday night.

Yet I can't rate it 5 stars due to a few things. The interior decor is not as rich as in other pubs. They held our credit card thru the evening, which we never saw in other places. It made me uncomfortable thinking that they could take pictures of my card and use it as they wish. I understand they're afraid that people would run off without paying, but in this case they had all my info since I bought the comedy tickets online.

After the comedy show, we couldn't stay much longer for more food, drinks and conversation, because they played very loud music, so we left.
