I'm in the minority here where I had a bad experience. Let's start with the good. We came in here and the café looked awesome... you can get coffee AND watch people fix cool bikes and cars.
The earl grey latte caught my eye so that's what I ordered, large, I didn't say iced because I wanted hot to go along with the almond croissant. 10 minutes go by and still nothing. My wife with our baby grew impatient and asked, they said it'll come right up. Another few minutes, I finally see them start making my order. Umm, an update would have been appreciated and it wasn't like they were super busy! Maybe their machine was broken? At this point, they gave me the :, not warm (they might not have the equipment to toast/ heat it up?).
Finally after 20 minutes, no exaggeration, my earl grey latte was ready. It was iced though. Fine, I don't have the time to wait 20 minutes for another one. Got in the car and took a sip... it was the most watered down latte of any kind I had. Again, if it didn't take so long where we are now running behind schedule, I would have gone in to complain because I could have steeped my own bag of tea and add milk and ice to it in a minute with how diluted this tasted. Honestly if this how it should taste, then please take it off the menu.
In the end, I waited 20 minutes for a watered down iced tea (which should have been hot) to go along with an average almond croissant. Maybe they had a bad day but it's enough to deter me from returning. I would have given this place 1.5 stars...
Read moreWhat a gem! 4.9 stars for so many reasons. Let me start with the fact that the coffee is superb. An instant favorite, if not the best coffee in Boston. Not that overly burnt garbage sold in most cafes... What they serve you is smooth and flavorful perfectly toasted coffee beans. They also have food bites that are amazing. From the zaatar pita to the croissants and baklava, everything is delicious. The rest enhances the experience that much more. The vibe and aesthetic is an effortless and rare mix of authentic, edgy, and artsy. A unique feature of the coffee shop is walking into the attached motorcycle garage and shop. Such a cool experience. Eclectic art and accolades to the owner are covering the walls. It was such a treat to meet and chat with the staff. The crowd is very diverse and of all ages. The music selection is awesome and it effectively drowns out conversations so you can focus. The coffee shop staff is warm and genuinely welcoming even when they are very busy. An absolute winner on all fronts. Easily earning 5 stars and my new...
Read moreWe love MadHouse so much that we actually got married here! ♥️ This cool café & motorcycle-restoration garage combo is a total vibe, both for your everyday cup of joe, and also for all of your cozy, intimate event needs. J. Shia, the owner, is the most humble & accommodating host who went out of her way to make sure this day was incredibly special for us. The truth is though, with a space as unique as MadHouse café, she doesn’t have to try very hard because the aesthetic speaks for itself, as do all of the delicious drinks that the awesome barista, Bhavna, creates! The snacks & pastries are also a heavenly treat, and it helps that their venue is dog-friendly so that we could set-up shop, admire all of their very cool motorcycles, and have a beautifully intimate Nikah ceremony with all of our closest friends & loved ones. By the end of it all, the MadHouse crew felt like they were a part of our family and we are so grateful to them for hosting us on our special day. Huge shout out to Madhouse! 🙌 Definitely give them a visit; I promise you...
