Top Mix Bar & Kitchen — Restaurant in Boston

Went there yesterday with friends and overall it was nothing to write home about. The section we were seated was secluded from everyone else which was fine but created a lackluster atmosphere. The music playing on one speaker was really really low, I could hear the table about 6ft away private conversation and they were talking softly, the speaker was also playing one genre of music, while their was a tv with a music video with a completely different genre of music both playing at the same time . So one ear was hip hop and the other was latin music. Service was to be desired because the food took 30 mins for some fried plantains with cheese , seriously ? I can make that at home in 5 minutes. The shots came in a plastic cup which I found odd, overall the employees didn’t seem very friendly , they did not engage customers and create a welcoming environment. They were clerking , just asking what we wanted instead of making us feel appreciated as customers. I didn’t even get a “ thank you, please Come back or see you next time”. I recently had the chance to dine at Top Mix, and I have to say, the food was absolutely delicious! Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared, making it clear that the chefs are passionate about what they do. I truly enjoyed every bite.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was also a highlight. It had a nice, inviting vibe that made for a pleasant dining experience. The decor was stylish, and the overall ambiance created a great setting for enjoying a meal.

However, I did encounter some issues with the service, which is why I’m giving a four-star review. Unfortunately, the staff did not come across as particularly friendly, and there were a few unnecessary comments that detracted from the experience. A little more warmth and attentiveness from the team would have made a significant difference.

Despite the service hiccups, I would still recommend Top Mix for its incredible food and lovely atmosphere. I hope that with some improvements in customer service, it can become an even better dining destination! I look forward to returning and enjoying another meal...

The food was good but the service is TERRIBLE. I have visited this establishment 3 times and the 3rd time was the last time. I am big on giving second chances and I understand that due to the pandemic, there may be a shortage in staff and the wait times may be a bit longer however this is not the case. The first time I visited, there was hardly anyone in the establishment and it took almost 30 minutes for my party to be greeted. After we finally put in our drink order, it took another 30 minutes for the drinks to come out. While waiting were weren't offered water or even given utensils. There was no customer service at all. At least if there is a long wait time, communicate that, bring out waters, get appetizers going, like anything at all would have been courteous. I literally had to flag my waitress down if I needed anything additional. Mind you, there were only 2 other parties in the whole bar and the whole team was congregating at the bar.
