Mike's Donuts — Restaurant in Boston

Without a shadow of a doubt Mike's Donuts is one of THE best coffee/donut shops in Mission Hill. From the bustling atmosphere to the kind women behind the counter serving us it is always a pleasant experience. It is hard to go wrong with anything on their menu. My go to favorite is the Ham, Egg, and Cheese on an English Muffin with hash brown. And let me say this, always get with hash brown, they are some of the best hash browns I have ever had, and stand to do nothing but elevate an already good tasting sandwich. Their coffee is good as well, they brew New England Coffee which always has an acceptable taste. I would recommend Mike's Donuts to anyone from college students recovering from a late night out, to just looking to get a worthwhile...

I frequent Mike's 2-3x a month. Staff is quick and efficient behind the counter. I've always been a fan of the bacon,egg and cheese with a hash brown on a croissant but have recently enjoyed their donuts. Glazed or buttermilk are my go to but maple bacon was a fun mix up. Also tried the strawberry smoothie for the first time and loved it. (fyi it's big enough to share!) My only reason for 4 stars is because the egg isn't freshly cooked (similar to Dunkin egg) and the hash brown is too small for the croissant. This place reminded me of the donut shop/bakery in the neighborhood of where I grew up. The smell of fresh baked goods is something that will get the mind and stomach going. The donuts had that texture that you can't find in the large chain donuts shops. Soft but firm inside. Not doughy. The plain/or old fashioned had just a perfect crunch on the outside. Even 10 hours later I had one....or 3 as a snack and they tasted as if they just were made. I cannot wait to head back and get another dozen for me. And a dozen for 2...
