As promised, I would update after giving one more chance, and I am glad I did. Friday night @ 7:45 and the food was just as delicious as always. Service was better than before still needs some tweaks but they didn't push us aside or say a half hour wait before we even placed an order a young lady said "someone will be with you in a moment" the previous gentleman was nowhere to be seen and they actually had a staff on that was working, only complaint is I don't know the young gentleman's name that helped us because he had on a jacket with no name tag but was respectful. The full dining room was opened as opposed to being blocked off and shut down, and we actually ate 2 slices there while we waited for our order to be made and to go. Definitely gong in the right direction if the service and staff continue to what they are doing. *Updated Thank you for the response and I will reach out however I do not want any coupons, free meals or discounts. I just want service when I come in and not to feel like a bother. I will give one more shot soon and will update review of the next experience at that point. Thank you This use to be one of our favorite go to's after work during the week. But the past few times this last 6 months is very disappointing, and it takes a lot for me to write a bad review as it's not something I like to do but this place and the people behind the counter are beyond ridiculous. I have walked out the past 3 times without ordering saying this is the last time and going once more hoping it will be different this time as everyone has a bad or off day and every time I regret it. No matter what the young man behind the counter does NOT want to work everything is a half hour wait no matter what you want to order with no other customers around never mind the fact it takes him many minutes to acknowledge you as you feel like you're interrupting their own conversations. This place will be one of the next ones to close if they allow the employees that are there to keep running the show the way they are, the owner needs to monitor the videos at night or go back to sending spotters into the restaurants at night. I used to run/manage a fast-food chain, so I definitely know the expectations and this isn't it. I understand it's hard-to-get employees but get ones that at last show they care and want to do their job. I love Papa Ginos when I can actually get the food but everything else about this one location is horrible, I ended up going to the location...
Read moreI wish I could attach pictures, because words alone can’t capture the chaos of tonight. I’ve ordered from Papa Gino’s many times with no issues. But today? Today was the absolute worst service I’ve experienced in my 752 years of existence on this Earth.
Here’s what went down: I called, ready to order like the civilized adult I am. and who answers the phone? A child. Not just any child.this boy sounded about 10 years old, freshly off his Fortnite session. I tell him my order and that I want delivery. He rushes me, says “no” when I ask about payment, and hangs up faster than my grandma closing the blinds when the Jehovah’s Witnesses walk up.
An hour and a half later—no food. Not even a whiff of garlic bread in the air. My household, which comes from a long line of hangry bears, is in full meltdown mode. Tears. Screaming. Gnawing on the couch cushions. I call back. They say they marked it as takeout. TAKEOUT. Sir, I don’t put on pants for takeout. I specifically said delivery.
They “fix” it, change it to delivery. Great. I sit back, stomach growling like an approaching thunderstorm. Another hour passes. I call again. Guess who answers? The child. This time he says they canceled my order because they had no delivery driver. CLAIMS he “called me” to let me know. Lies. Straight lies. My phone had zero missed calls—unless he dialed his Minecraft server instead of my number. Or he was missing delivery drivers and cell service.
It’s now 8:15. My family sits in ruins. Empty-bellied, tear-streaked, and traumatized. I had no choice but to crawl back to our usual, reliable go-to place… which, let’s be honest, I should’ve just ordered from in the first place.
Papa Gino’s, I love you usually, but tonight? You gave me pain, hunger, and the realization that a 10-year-old was probably in charge...
Read moreI had the worst experiance at the papa ginos on Morrisy Blvd in Dorchester. I ordered 4 pies by phone gave my name and my phone number and i was told it would be $58 and some change and it would be 30 min. 25 min later i went to pick it up and i went up to the cashier and i tried to pay. The cashier told me that my order was not there and that it never went through. I told the cashier that i spoke to someone and that they gave me the total and that it would be 30 min. I tried to confirm their phone number with the cashier but he did not know the number. The cashier then asked the manager and he was on his cell phone and and told the cashier that the number is on the receipt. The cashier then asked me if i still wanted to put the order in and because i had 4 kids waiting to eat i decided to put the order in again. I the cashier then turned to his manager and asked him if he can put the 4 pies in as soon as possible and he stated i am busy but when i am done i will do it. Before he started to do my 4 pies he was able to send a few more texts on his cellphone and do another pie that wasnt mine. I knew it wasn't mine cause it was a Mac and Cheese pie. He finally started on my my 4 pies and after 45 min of waiting in the store i finally got my pies. By this time i was very unpleased because in the last 45 min i was never approached by anyone and even said i am sorry for the wait or anything. I was not even given a discount and i paid full price. I went up to the manager, and pulled him to one side because i hate making a scene, to express my frustration and all he could say to me was "I am only one person" and he walked away. I will never go back to...
