I went to Seapoint last night after driving by a million times. It did not disappoint. Don't get it confused- this is not a fine dining establishment. If that is what you're looking for, drive another 10 minutes and there are many places in the Seaport that can help you out. Seapoint is a family-oriented restaurant in South Boston that serves great food with generous portions.
My server, a lovely young woman named Trinity, answered all of my questions about the menu and the restaurant. Even though both of the servers were extremely busy, Trinity made it a point to check in on me each time she passed by. She was extremely friendly and helpful, despite being very busy.
I ordered the steak tips dinner with french fries and carrots and broccoli. All of the food came out hot and perfectly done. The food was absolutely delicious. Kudos to the kitchen staff.
This is a definitely a family-oriented place. I saw a bunch of kids with their parents having a great time eating pizza, drinking soda, and hanging out with their friends. It reminded me of the kinds of places that my parents brought me to when I was a kid.
The combination of fond memories, great service, and delicious food makes Seapoint a winner. Even though "Southie" (as it is affectionately referred to by the locals) has changed a lot over the years, Seapoint stands as a monument to traditional Southie values. Great food and great service for the hard-working families of...
Read moreIt used to be a whole lot better. The food has gone downhill tremendously, not only in quality, but in overall preparation and handling. Duing a recent visit (which will most likely be my last) I looked back into the kitchen to see the cook with no gloves on and talking on his cell phone (which we all know is disgusting because cell phones are covered in feces because pretty much everyone sits on the toilet and texts, looks at social media, and reads the news). Sorry, it’s a fact. Look it up. Most people are gross. But if you’re working in a kitchen, you should be wearing gloves, and not talking on your phone with bare hands. Secondly, the fryer oil REALLY needs to be changed. Serious…someone should tell management/ownership/the cook that they are supposed to be changing the fryer oil more frequently. I got some fried fish, and the color of the batter was so dark that you could clearly tell it had been cooked in something the color of motor oil. It’s disappointing. In addition to all of this, the bartender was the rudest most inattentive person I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. She could not have cared less. She was more interested in leaning against the high top table the other service end of the bar and reading text messages on her phone. She completely sucked at all of it. Hospitality is not her strong suit. Like I said, there was a time when it was much...
Read moreNice comfort food at a great price with friendly service. I tried a little bit of everything. Their marinara sauce is excellent, steak tips were not my favorite way to have steak, but I ate all of it and can see how anyone could enjoy them. The pizza was pretty droopy, but the ingredients were there. Pastrami sandwich went well with Swiss, might try it with another cheese next time, and the greek salad was not a traditional one, but was pretty damn good still. Overall it’s just a good hangout spot to have a few beers and catch some good bites. It’s also in a very nice part of town that is great to spend a slow...
