Taco John’s — Restaurant in Boston

I had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered at this Taco John’s location. I placed an order for pickup, and when I got home, I realized the entire order was wrong — none of the items matched what I had paid for.

I tried contacting the store right away, but the staff was extremely unhelpful and dismissive. When I asked to speak with the manager, their attitude was just as poor — no apology, no ownership of the mistake, and no effort to make it right. Instead, they told me I had to physically bring the receipt back to the store to “prove” the error, just to even be considered for a refund. I had already wasted my time and money picking up the wrong order — now I was being asked to do more to fix their mistake.

I also tried calling the corporate office, but the phone system led me nowhere. I finally got in touch with someone in accounting (through LinkedIn of all places), who at least agreed to report the issue, but it should never have to go that far.

My husband and I were shopping downtown for our vacation and walked by this place, so we decided to stop in and check it out. We were greeted by one of the gentlemen at the door, ordered our food, and waited less than five minutes for it to be ready. Everyone was friendly. We dined in, and the food was fresh and delicious. We had a boss bowl along with chicken tacos and potatoes oles with nacho cheese sauce, all of which were very delicious. 10/10. One of our chicken tacos tasted like fish, so my husband asked if it was chicken or fish, and they confirmed it was chicken but also gave us a new taco at no charge. My first time ever eating at a Taco John's and this place did not disappoint! I usually avoid the fast food spots in dtx, but my friend (who knows how much I love Taco Bell) said I had to check this spot out. Got the potato crown nachos and am in love - perfect fast food lunch.

Very impressed with how clean this spot is compared to many of its fast food competitors in the area. Also, the staff were lovely and attentive. I hope they can keep it up - I'll definitely be coming back when the desire for fried potatoes smothered in refried beans awakens again (which will be...
