Frustrated to have to do this, but after many troubled experiences over the past few years, it's simply time to admit that this just isn't a great Red Robin location. And I really wanted it to be.
As a customer, I never felt I got a good value or great service here. Every time I am here, there are tons of new faces- it seems like turnover is especially high. I expect some of that, but I also have a hunch people don't really enjoy working here. Not many smiles- lots of stress. Food always takes a while to come out, and rarely looks good. Lots of uneven cooking with the burgers, too- never quite sure how it will come out. And you feel guilty asking for refills on fries, which rarely come, because everyone seems rushed and overworked and not particularly focused on your fry basket.
I've had experiences with their to go system, too. And those experiences are often poor. They never meet their time commitments. In fact, it's a rare day when it works smoothly and efficiently. It's clear they've tried to come up with a solution to the pandemic's massive demand for to go orders- it just doesn't work. When they're busy, they tell you they're too busy. And when they are slow, they tell you some story about staffing, issues getting or handling the order, having to train the people making the food (again, very high turnover), having to remake the food, etc.- the last time I was there, a manager (who never came out to talk to me at all) kept sending her poor associates out to give me a different story every five minutes or so. And they'd always say "2-3 more minutes", only to have to keep punting again and again. (Just be HONEST about the problem and the expected wait!)
The food I picked up most recently took nearly 45 minutes longer than promised, and at one point I was told it's because new untrained people kept messing it up because it's a new item they don't really know how to make yet at this location. That doesn't exactly inspire you to dig in!
I love Red Robin. The concept, the value, the branding. I really do. Which is why it hurts to recommend strongly that people go elsewhere. There are running, recurring issues at this location that never seem to be addressed.
If you NEED Red Robin, hit the one in Woodinville. I've been fortunate to have much better...
Read moreLove Red Robin. Have been eating at Red Robin for the past 20+ yrs. My family and I recently moved to the Mill Creek area and started visiting the Bothell location. I ordered my food to-go due to the fact that I have 4 kids all under the age of 9, one toddler and a few week old baby. That particular visit, I had a sick toddler, which had kept me up all night, on top of a new baby boy who is a night owl :) I was at the doc's office, and did not have time to cook. I called ahead to order at RR and for some reason, that day, was transferred 3 times to three diff people. Then placed on hold for a while with my sick kid crying nonstop, so I needed to get my food and ago. After 25 minutes on the phone trying to put in my order, the rep hung up on me and never called me back. I was furious and decided to just drive past and go home. I called RR back and spoke to a manager to ensure that someone knew about the reps behavior and to make sure it never happened to another customer. Being a mom of 4 and with sick kids and running around and doctors offices and all, it was just too much, to add the situation that I cannot order food for my kids without complications. I was connected to Jared, the manager, and I was very happy with his attitude and prompt response to my situation. He was very empathetic and convinced me to give him my order again and he would expedite it. Once I arrived and parked outside waiting in the to-go order spot, a few minutes later Jared came outside and apologized in person and noted that he spoke to the employee and ensured that customers need to be called back if there is a disconnection. I was very pleased with the outcome and with Jared's great customer service etiquette and attentiveness. I Would recommend the Botha location Would Recommend the Bothell Location any time. Best burgers in town especially the banzai Burger and the whiskey river...
Read moreI really dislike this Bothell location. 90% of the time the order is not ready when I get there (and I usually get there on time, and expect to wait - I'm very patient). Today, I arrived at the est ready time. Called curbside, they said it was still being made. Waited 20 minutes (total of 45 mins from submitting it online) and watched multiple people pull in and out so I went inside. The young lady mentioned to everyone waiting, they were having a kitchen issue and were short staffed - so the wait time was a little longer. Fair enough. After a few mins of waiting and/or to be acknowledged personally, I looked over and my order is on the rack!!! I asked if we were just waiting for the drinks and she was shocked and asked if that was my order?? Really? At that point I checked the food, and it was already Lukewarm!! Not ok! My burger was pink too! I mean, I don't mind a little pink, but this was pretty damn pink! I have pics to prove! I didn't have time nor was I going to wait another hour to have it all remade. The other 10% of the time, they either forget something, make a mess of the sauces, or the food is flat out cold upon making it to my car. I know I've said this before, but I'm truly sticking with it this time, if I ever want a to go order from RR, I will drive the extra 15 mins each way and go to the Woodinville location. I've never had an issue there and they have more options on the online menu. I couldn't even order a strawberry milkshake, (unless I attached it to a kids meal, which I tried to but it magically didn't appear upon hitting "place order"), from Bothell location! #DoneWithThisPlaceForToGoOrders I've always had a pleasant experience with dine in - but I will never do...
