Happy Lemon Bothell — Restaurant in Bothell

The drinks are ok, the staff is always friendly, and the menu is easy to understand with a good amount of options while not being overwhelming. I personally find many of the drinks to be overly sweet, like most Boba places you can reduce the sugar amount when ordering (I find 50% or 70% to be adequate).

The layout is a little strange, the ordering area is right when you walk in, causing a line to quickly backup outside the store. The ordering process in-store requires a staff member take orders and isn't self service. You can order on-line if preferred and pickup your drinks, it would be nice if there was a self service order kiosk (or two).

The last few visits, the waffle area was very messy and the staff seemed very disorganized. Orders were not making it out very quickly with many people waiting (They were batching orders which was interrupting the flow of producing drinks). The quality of drinks also seems to vary across visits with the main difference being the amount of Boba and other additions in drinks. During my most recent visit, I witnessed an employee blow their nose and not rewash their hands after which was a little off-putting. It's been really nice having a Boba place in this location, I just hope they evaluate and improve consistency and reduce overall...

We were super excited to have a Happy Lemon in Bothell since we frequently made the trips to Edmonds and Bellevue for their bubble tea. When we got there on a Sunday afternoon, there were only 4 other customers in the store so we thought our 2 drinks and a bubble waffle wouldn't take long. We were WRONG. The three staff working there wouldn't stop chatting and they took their time to make the drinks. When it was our turn, 1 drink and 1 bubble waffle took more than 20 minutes and there was one more to go. Until the customers who got in after us all got their drinks, we were still waiting. Another 10 minutes later, we went to check with them on our second drink. It was left on the counter the entire time and they never bothered to bring it out. They completely forgot about it and were chatting with themselves the entire time. We get bubble tea at least once a week and this was the first time being treated like this. My first time visiting a happy lemon and I was FLOORED. This place was AMAZING. walked in with no idea what to expect besides "tea and boba" from a coworker. And they had so much interesting stuff. The BubbleWaffle was delicious and I had it with I think it was puff cream dipping sauce alongside a salted cheese dipping sauce. The puff cream was a bit sweet and paired almost perfectly with the BubbleWaffle but when I went for the salted cheese dip, Oh LORD, dear viewer, try it. It's a hint of salty ness to a mild cheese flavor that paired DIVINELY with the BubbleWaffle.

The strawberry shortcake smoothie was also pretty dang good! Next time I'm trying something with boba and/or maybe the salted cheese! Thank you happy lemon for a...
