Ado's advertises itself as an Italian spot for brunch and dinner. When we got there I had to hunt down the host as we sat at the front door for a while. The host ended up being our waiter and he had an injured leg and he was icing it while chatting with the bar patrons. Why not let this guy go home? So service wasn't really great. Never got a refill on our drinks and he never came back to check on us--only, to of course, leave the 44$ bill for lunch. On to the food, I had the Ado Alfredo chicken pasta which honestly wasn't bad. The chicken was a thin fried breast and the chicken to noodle ratio was just right. I really liked the onions in the sauce. My partner had fettuccine with meatballs that came with a strange overly herbed creamy Rosa sauce. Additionally, it was way too sweet. I would say that this is an Italian fusion restaurant. I say that because there are pupusas on the menu along with other traditional Central American dishes and the waiter asked if we wanted hot sauce or red chili flakes for our pasta, not Parmesan cheese. Lol. If I'm ever in Boulder again and hungry for Italian food, I won't be coming back here. However if you're college kid then you...
Read moreTo the food review: I don’t eat pork so I couldn’t eat the original Egg’s Benedict on the menu. So I was offered Salmon to eat with my Benedict instead (they should add this plate to the menu). I’ve been on an Egg Benedict escapade across Denver for the past month, so I’ve tried 10+ Benedict’s from different places over the last 30 days (although this is in Boulder). In all honestly…this was probably (or definitely) the best Benedict I’ve ever had. From the presentation of the plate (colors of green from the spice which I’m not familiar with, the tinted oil, the pink Salmon, and the white & yellow egg colors), to the perfection of the combination of textures and flavors…it was an amazing plate of Benedict/food. If I stayed closer (I live in the Springs and it even beats the Benedicts down there), I would definitely be a regular or weekly customer. Thank you all for the experience and continue...
Read moreThe girl and I stopped in late Sunday morning for breakfast. The restaurant was clean and has a nice ambience, with tables and booths in one room and a full bar in the other. Our server greeted left an immediate positive impression and continued to provide great service throughout our meal. She ordered some sort of Benedict Salmon Florentine dish that had polenta cakes instead of English muffins and man, the dish was great. She was nice enough to let me have two bites. Lol! I ordered the chicken fried chicken and scrambled eggs, which also comes with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. It sounded a little weird for a breakfast menu, but I figured they put it on there for a reason and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious. I’m not kidding when I say that those mashed potatoes are possibly the best I’ve ever had and for breakfast! The eggs were perfectly cooked and the chicken fried chicken cutlet was crispy and light and seasoned so well. Seriously, this was unexpectedly one of the best meals we’ve had in Boulder, including most of the “fancier” places. We are going back...
