We go here often. I don't understand the negative reviews, but there are always going to be people who are unhappy or come in on the wrong day. Our food is always tasty, filling, and comes really quickly. Our usual server is very friendly and never screws up our order. Sometimes, yes, she gets so friendly with other customers that it can take us a bit too get our bill, but we never have to wait long for our food. Don't come to a place called Dot's Diner expecting authentic Mexican food. That's silly. But their green chile is flavorful and always vegetarian. I enjoy how easy it is to eat vegetarian at Dot's. Even in Boulder, it seems going out to breakfast involves desperately scouring the menu, being told all their green chile is made with pork, and having to stipulate a bunch of substitutions just to get a classic breakfast. The eggs are free range, the coffee’s organic, and they have plenty of variety if I’m not game for a traditional breakfast...There’s the standards, which keep ‘em coming back, and then substitutions like gluten free, oat milk, all the important Boulder things. It’s a relief to find somewhere that has vegetarian sausages! and Of course they figured out the best recipe in town for gluten free pancakes with real maple syrup! What’s also a treat is they always have an authentic Nepalese selection because half the staff are from Pokhara, Nepal. If you love chai, they’ve got it down!
This is the quintessential diner, a Boulder icon. There’s even photos of traditional diners in some of the booths. What a treat. Completely eclectic diner decor with gorgeous metal photographs for sale on the walls.
And to top it off…The wait staff couldn’t be kinder and more...

Today we were driving up to Longmont and decided to take a detour and stop in and grab brunch in person.
Woah. I am so glad that we did.
The Cinnamon roll! Incredible light and fluffy.. the frosting.. the dough.. A1!
We inhaled it.
I of course ordered a French dip. It was Just as I expected- the bread was perfect, the ai jus was jus-ing.
My partner ordered farmer eggs with a busicuit. The potatoes were out of this world, the eggs and peppers cooked perfect... AND THAT BISCUIT- with the jam.
I love breakfast. I love diners.
