We had reservations for my sons birthday,. The hostesses sat us at a table which felt very awkward because a large group was literally right next to us. I asked to move to one of the 4 , 4 tops available. With attitude she sat us to the one closest to the kitchen and reminded us that we had 1 1/2 hours to eat. Right there and then I would have left but again it was my sons birthday. It just set such an uncomfortable tone for the evening. Ten minutes later a very kind young man greeted us and got our drinks, assuring us our server would be over. Then 15 minutes later another kind man with a beard came over assuring us that our server would be there. 15 minutes later our server came over took our appetizer order. Calamari and fries were delicious. 20 minutes later she was back to take our entree order. Ahi, scallops and salmon were our choices. She informed us that the salmon would be medium rare. Of course that sounded perfect. Ahi was delicious salmon was good, but came out prepared medium well and unfortunately the scallops were disappointing. There was a young lady with a edgy hair cut through out our service who was spot on always clearing our plates with a smile. The server was basically an order taker no passion in her spirit for what she does for a living. Maybe she was overwhelmed with the patio because the restaurant it self was not busy. We finished our dinners then left and went elsewhere for dessert and coffee. The hostess said goodbye but I couldn’t find it in myself to respond because I new it wasn’t genuine. Maybe it was an off night for everyone and who knows what’s going on in peoples lives. Hopefully this can be a learning lesson for everyone so the next costumer can have a better...

Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar is a fantastic spot for seafood lovers, offering some of the freshest and most flavorful dishes in town. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the hostess, whose welcoming energy and attentiveness set the tone for a great evening. She was friendly, professional, and made sure we were seated comfortably, making us feel truly valued as guests.
The ambiance at Jax is cozy and inviting, perfect for an intimate dinner or a relaxed night out with friends. The food was absolutely wonderful—fresh, well-prepared, and bursting with flavor. The oysters were incredibly fresh, and every dish we tried showcased high-quality ingredients. It’s clear they take great care in sourcing and preparing their seafood.
Our waitress was alright—attentive enough, but she didn’t quite match the exceptional service we received from the hostess. A little more warmth and engagement would have elevated the experience even further. That said, the overall dining experience was still enjoyable, thanks to the fantastic food and welcoming atmosphere.
If you’re a seafood fan, Jax is definitely worth a visit. The combination of fresh, expertly prepared dishes and a cozy environment makes for a great dining experience. Hopefully, all the staff can match the level of service that the hostess provided, as she truly stood out in making our...
Read moreUPDATE: We returned for a late lunch today and sadly, the food was disappointing. Had a 2:30 reservation on a Saturday, so the restaurant was not busy. The service was excellent. The mussels were past their prime although the broth was good. I could not stomach very many of those mussels, so I ate almost half. But they weren't so horrible to make a fuss over. But now I wish I had. Husband's scallops were good, but they are medium/small, and there were only four of them. For over $43 there should have been rice on the plate, or some other significant serving of starch, but there was none. The scallops are placed on top of a very minimal amount of some kind of white and green sauce. Literally, half of the large white plate this dish was served on was empty. It was rather abysmal. I might get a response here that it was potato(?) But it was a thin slurry, and not filling at all, and the green sauce was sweet. And there were sliced watermelon radishes on the plate along with a small amount of carrot Weird. Four medium scallops? $43 ?! Come on!! None of our food was fresh or special. Sides are very small & just "ok." What happened here?
