My wife gets sick if she eats onions or scallions or anything else in the onion family. I always relay this when ordering anything even if the menu doesn’t specify onions because they’re ubiquitous in cooking.
I specifically asked for no onions or scallions on this pizza. When I came back 1/2 hour later to pick it up, I saw that despite the ticket stuck to the pie saying so, there were scallions all over it. I reminded them.
So instead of making a new pie, the cashier and the guy making the pizzas picked off the scallions in front of me. I was appalled but kept my mouth shut - after all, these people are supposed to be experts in food preparation, right? Wrong!
As I was paying I could clearly see that there was at least 3 small pieces left on the pizza. I told the cashier girl that my wife gets violently ill if she eats anything in the onion family. She just apologized but offered nothing else. To her credit she initially suggested scraping all the toppings off. Her (older) boss guy suggested picking off the scallions.
We took the pie home and picked probably 25 more pieces of scallions on the pie before cooking it.
I could call and complain but they’d probably just offer to poison my...
Read moreMy favorite barbecue in Southeast Aurora I live so close and I go through the drive-thru two or three times a month. I had an issue with one of my sandwiches once I got home and I was comfortable on the couch. Being disappointed and dissatisfied with the meat quality I set it aside in its original foil in hopes a comp sandwich next time. After working with the manager who was very polite and professional I learned that the policy is give the restaurant a call immediately and explain your dissatisfaction and they will do whatever they can to make it right for the customer. The policy is to keep the food, the receipt and be immediate with your feedback regarding the food quality. If you do those three things you will find out that Nick and Willy's management wants very much to satisfy their customers even so far as to deliver replacement food to your home. It's hard to imagine this day and age that a company would go so far to please the customer so they can enjoy the high quality barbecue they provide. A personal thank you to the day manager for her patience professionalism and desire to retain customers and build...
Read moreWow, where can I start. I am from out of State, (Massachusetts) visiting Boulder, so far so good, place is beautiful and food has been great, but I guess all good food must come to an end. There is a saying, that you can't screw up a burger and I always thought it was true with chicken wings, until now. Nick - N - Willy's, somehow managed to do it. I order some wings and pick them up 10 min later, only pick up cold wings and was told that I could heat them up at home, keep in mind, I am staying at a hotel (no oven). I decided to try a wing, I figure cold wings might be a thing here in Boulder, plus don't knock them, until you try them. Nope, they were bad. Cold, dry and full of grease (baked, yeah right). I think they make then in the morning and just reheat them through the day. I have had wings from many places and many states, hope they don't represent Boulder. Will tell the fam and friends to stay away from them, if they are ever in town. And to think I left a tip. Heck Dominos wings are better then thiers and that does not say a lot. Well that's one chicken...
