Dined in on a Wednesday evening a couple weeks ago. Should have known to turn around & go elsewhere when staff members were sitting in the waiting area on their cell phones, the host was eating at the host stand and greeted us with a mouth full of food.
We were seated at a table that hadn't been cleaned well, had to ask to have it wiped off again & was met with an eye roll. While waiting for the server we unrolled our silverware & it too was dirty. The server did finally make it over to our table after we had been seated for about 10 minutes. The restaurant was not busy, but the server was no where to be found. While waiting we watched the busser sit in the booth on her phone for at least 5 minutes before she decided it was time to actually work. There were about 3 tables with guests seated at them in the same area we were seated and about 5 tables that were left dirty the entire time we were there.
The server finally showed up. We placed our entire order since we didn't know when we would see her again and we had plenty of time to look at the menu. She did bring bread out upon request and drinks did make it to the table in a timely fashion.
We ordered salads to eat before our meal. Unfortunately, the salads were delivered literally moments before our steaks. Now the salad is going to get soggy if we don't eat it now or the steak is going to get cold - I can't stand when this happens. We ordered a side of mushrooms with the steaks & they were not good, we had to send them back as they made us gag. Unfortunately yet again, the server was no where to be found, so we couldn't send them back. She did finally check in on us after we'd had our food for about 15 minutes - too late to do anything about anything at this point.
Now BEGINS the waiting game, we never saw our server again, 20 minutes later and I literally went on an expedition to try to locate her - I wound up in the kitchen to find ANYONE that could help us, we needed boxes for the leftover steak and wanted to pay and leave. One server was in the kitchen area and said she would send our server over, another 5 minutes later and she came over, no check and no boxes even though we had already asked for them. She brought the check and boxes out, we loaded our food and yet again waited. I went back to the kitchen after another 10 minutes to try to pay the bill so that we could leave.
LongHorn ShortStory; Servers need to be on the floor where the customers are. Food was decent (minus the mushrooms) but we will not be returning, its obvious this place does not have any kind of management based on the brief observations of the evening. There are plenty of good steakhouses in the area, Stoney River, Rodizio Grill, Texas Roadhouse, Outback... they will continue to get my business,...
Read moreMy first mistake was not taking a picture of everything & it came out absolutely beautiful. Perfectly charred..I got the smaller ribeye & man, it was probably the best steak I've ever had in a restaurant hands down. I actually came on my birthday & what I really liked & appreciated was how good the server was. There was a large group (I think about 8-9) coming in & he asked us if we wanted them not to sit next to my gf & I. I told him no not at all, I didn't want to make him walk all over to serve both tables. So that was 1 thing I really appreciated, the other was when he was explaining the menu he told us about 2 different ways to get our steaks that neither of us had even heard about. My gf & her family/kids go there at least 1x a month & she even said no one ever took the time to explain that. The options was Pit or butterfly.. pit is when they heavily char the outside yet you can get the inside any temp you want. Let me say, as a further cook at a steakhouse it's incredibly hard to get a very heavily char on the outside (especially on an open flame) yet still be a perfect, juicy & absolutely beautifully tender medium straight through the steak. It has to the best cooked steak over ever eaten & that heavy char was perfect, almost primal. I'm on disability so I can't always afford to go out to places but when I do, I could only hope that my food would turn out 1/10th as delicious as this was. My gf got the same thing but different way & three Parm topping & she loved it too. I live spicy foods but she doesn't, so we got the shrimp without the peppers, I didn't think I would like it but man... The whole meal was just beautiful from the service, to them seating, to him being thoughtful enough to ask before sitting a large group next to us.. so I must say, these are the meals that will bring me back over & over. I just want to thank Longhorn for truly giving me an amazing birthday meal. I'll definitely be back to see you guys...& Soon! Thanks! 🙏
Sorry I didn't take any pics...I truly wish I did bc it was THE BEST cooked steak I've ever seen or had the...
Read moreWell, since there was no one available to speak to and I was hung up on, on the phone, after we walked out, here’s my review! Joined waitlist before arriving and we’re quickly seated on arrival, by a very sullen teenager, No introductions as a bread board was thrown in front of us…no silverware. We waited a couple of minutes, but no one came back to give us silverware or take our order. I walked up to the hostess desk, where I was met with the earlier sullen teenager…on her phone. I asked for silverware, and she finished her text, or whatever, before answering “we don’t have any”….I repeated myself, since she wasn’t really paying attention in the first place, and I’m thinking there’s no way they don’t have silverware?! She seemed super annoyed that I asked agin, and said “”you’ll GET some when you get served!”. I tried to explain to her that we already had bread, getting cold, at the table, because we had no silverware. She shrugged, as if to say “I don’t know what to tell you?!”. I went back to the table, only to see her back on her phone at the hostess stand. Our server came and took drink orders…we again asked for silverware …he responded “give me a send and I’ll get it”…Our drink orders arrived …we said “we still don’t have silverware”…he seemed annoyed and repeated “give me a second and I’ll get it”. We wait several minutes more…no service, no silverware. My husband then said “we’re not paying money where customer service is not taken seriously!”. We walked out…cold bread still on table and NO silverware! I tried to find a manager/supervisor to talk to before leaving, but no one to be found. I called once I left and someone picked up straight away. I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor. Responded “Sure!” and immediately hung up on me. So here we are…leaving a bad review, which I REALLY don’t like to do. I’d rather give a business pointers on better customer service, rather than complain. We headed out to the Laurel location, where we received amazing prompt service! Longhorn...
