Been to many first watches before this. Never had any bad experiences until now.
The good: the server, Randy was extremely polite. He was friendly, courteous and if everyone was like him this would be a 5 star review. Give that guy a raise.
The food was good. Fairly consistent to what I’ve had before but the potatoes were slightly undercooked but everyone at the table enjoyed.
The cons: we walked in and were immediately taken to our tables which was nice. As we were seated I asked if we could be seated in a different spot due to the closeness of another table with a large party. We moved, but as soon as we sat down the people left. The seat we had chosen was right by the kitchen so I decided it was a poor choice. I went back up to the front and said “sorry for the confusion, but we’re going to move back to the original table” since no one had been there yet and it had been less than a minute. The last working the front sarcastically said “If you want to.”
I assumed maybe she was having a tough day and went back to the table.
We got our order taken very quickly by Randy, according to the receipt that was his name. Super friendly, polite and courteous. Got our orders, gave us sometime to decide on the food and got the orders into the kitchen quick.
When our food arrived, whoever it was seemed like they were done with the day, and we were a little confused about what was being delivered, he just kindof slid the food across the table. However, when he dropped of the next food item he did it carefully and courteous.
I asked for syrup from a gentleman walking by, because there were no other servers at that moment. He looked busy too but he stopped by to assist. When I asked him for it, he seemed slightly annoyed that I asked him for the syrup and when he went back there was a whole lot of laughing and pointing at our table. I don’t know maybe someone said something funny, but it came off the wrong way.
The server came out and dropped off the syrup politely. Don’t know her name but it seemed genuine for the most part.
Finally, when we had received the bill, I went up to the front to pay. Again, I think this lady was just having a rough day or something cause that demeanor is off putting.
I went up to pay and she just reached her hand out. I’m not saying you have to make conversation or anything but at least try to be polite and have a smile. I get it the job can be tough, and stressful but if it’s that bad quit.
Overall: I’m not going to go back to this place. I don’t think it was happening to most people and I don’t think it’ll happen to many more people. It was a poor order of events that turned me away from this place. I came in to celebrate two birthdays that day. I feel like I let the two down because I was expecting to treat them to a nice meal and this happened.
First watch is a good chain but the service needs to be improved. I don’t come to a restaurant to deal with a disrespectful attitude especially when I’m...

Try as I might look forward to being served a meal as I ordered is a mystery to me why they can't just get it right. As a Bowie local, it was nice to have a different place to have breakfast; however, it seems like this store just can't get it right. If it's not slow service, it is undercooked potatoes and/or eggs, watered down coffee, over-priced iced coffee, or poor wait staff/servers to include management in making an effort to accommodate customers. At times, they deliver as ordered, but about 90% of my visits, the order is not cooked to order. On 8/21/23, a quiet Monday morning, it took 35 mins for eggs benedict, which accounted for having to send my breakfast back to the kitchen. I specifically asked the server to ensure the egg was poached light and not hard boiled. I'll be damn if she doesn't bring out the opposite of what I asked and what I saw her write on the pad. Now, I have to wait 8 minutes to find someone to return it for a second try. Rather over easy, it's runny, which later had me running to the bathroom. If it's not over cooked, it's undercooked and if that's right, the English muffin, which is a baguette, not an English muffin, that's broiled so hard it's practically a crouton. Now, when it's time to pay, I can't find my server. She finally came over, and a man checked me out, and when asked about my breakfast, I explained to him how disappointed I was and that I wasn't pleased, he said nothing. He didn't try to offer an apology for all that was wrong with my order. I was so annoyed, I just left only to never eff'n return to this place. Go to the one in Laurel. The service is great, the food is prepared promptly (given the time/high volume customers), and the wait hasn't been nothing like Bowie First Watch. I've tried to give this place a chance and even spoke to corporate because the store's been underperforming for quite a while. They just keep EFF'N up. That place needs a complete overhaul and a better way to manage the staff in attending to the guest. DO BETTER! GOT'DANG. All I wanted was a good Monday morning breakfast, and I was so ticked off.... Bowie First Watch, bring me in there for a couple of days, and I will have that place operating like a well-oil machine. I do like the young lady at the front with the briads/locks (I didn't get her name). She's always polite. All I remember was that she was getting her squat-game on while behind the register. If anything positive came from my god-awful experience , I would get my...
Read moreFirst of all, we were told that it was a 30-45 minute wait, but serval tables were open/empty. The greeter was not friendly, & had an attitude when we asked not to sit by the bathroom. It still were several other tables available. Our waitress, was friendly at first, until we asked, can she exchange our coffee cups, bcuz it had been sitting on the table from the last patrons. She got an attitude & walked over to where the station that has clean cups, she stood there for a few seconds, didn't exchange the two coffee cups, but brought back over the same 2 cups. When I asked her to take off the coffee from the check bcuz I didn't drink it, her attitude & demeanor changed even more! The food plate presentation was ok, but the food was cold. I was afraid to ask that it be heated up, bcuz of a fear that the waitress would do something to my food, bcuz of her attitude. The prices are pretty expensive, to not even receive great service or food, esp since the fact that military do NOT get any discounts! I've seen several staff talking while holding ppl orders/food. 2 waitresses scratched their hair while handling food/drinks. 1 guy was doing/touching everything while wearing the same gloves, then touching dishes! Just gross! 1 guy, not sure if he was a server or the manager, but he was talking to one table for a long time, while many patrons were waiting for their orders. It was our first time at that particular establishment, & we will not be back! We've been to one in Virginia & the food, service, staff & restaurant was awesome & we got in right before closing & they still gave the best service! (#Take notes from them!) Re-train your staff, be professional & bring out hot food! By the way, I am a Food Critic & this experience was an epic fail!!! 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾...
