I’m new to the area. I deliberately researched black-owned galleries for art framing services. I found the gallery and was impressed with the venue. Unfortunately I had a horrible experience. I ordered framing and was told verbally that due to the Pandemic the order would take 3 weeks to complete (on the receipt they wrote 3-4 weeks to complete). In the fifth week, I contacted the gallery to get a status update. I was informed that they weren’t aware of the order status and I would receive a call back. I waited and upon not hearing from the gallery, I called back. I was told that they still didn’t have info, but the piece should be ready to pick up during the coming weekend. I was assured that I would receive a call to let me know when it was ready. On Saturday, I was in the area and decided to check on the piece. I was told that the piece wasn’t ready and would take another week. I wasn’t offered any compensation or apology. I was only offered excuses. I was told that I can take the piece back for a full refund. I wanted to continue supporting the gallery; however, due to the poor service, I decided to take my piece elsewhere. The service was very disappointing. All businesses must uphold a certain level of customer service, especially black-owned businesses. Poor customer service makes it difficult for consumers to trust and reduces the number of return visits. I don’t think that I will visit or do business with the gallery in the future. We...
Read moreI was in here not to long ago because my mom had wanted to frame something but after we were told the price of the item (that she wanted to frame) then we decided to leave. However, when my mom had a specific question about the picture to ask the women "in general" the women got real snippy and she literally said "that she hate's when people ask her that specific question". I wasn't really shocked over her comment because I saw the type of person who my mom was dealing with. Therefore, I know that we can take our business elsewhere to a "much better" gallery where the "right" people know how to treat you. Before that happened though, the same women had seen us waiting for awhile "although she was dealing with a customer" but after she was done she was talking on the phone for a long time like if we (her customer's) didn't even matter!!!!!!!! So with all of this said, even though this place has cool art, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If anything, "just browse the gallery but that's...
Read moreMy very first experience with the gallery was great. The second time around was not great. They did an excellent job with framing a piece of artwork that I purchased from an island. The second time around, my husband brought in an art piece that needed to be re-matted. In the process of them re-matting our Charles Bill's print, they destroyed our frame. Instead of the gallery recognizing what has occurred, they decided to put the blame on us by saying that the frame was already in poor condition initially. Recently, my husband picked up the art piece after they decided to put putty on the frame. It is such a shame that I will not be conducting anymore business with them. I will be going back to Crofton to get any additional frame work done in the future. It would have been nice to have stayed with the gallery since it is located in...
