Everyday People Cafe — Restaurant in Bowling Green

We were in town exhibiting at the Black Swamp Art Festival and had the pleasure of meeting the owners as they got the chance to enjoy the event themselves. After speaking with them ( their both way cool) and hearing how she does all the baking herself and her husband does the cooking, we decided that we were definitely going to have breakfast there the next day before we opened the show. I would like to point out that we do about 30 shows a year all over the mid west and east coast. One of the perks of traveling is finding little hidden local gems in the towns we stay at. I must say "Everyday People" is a MUST if you are in Bowling Green. There is literally NOT one suggestion, idea or comment, other than PERFECT that we could say ! I ordered the "Petite" size breakfast and still had a hard time finishing, and the price was a shock. We would have expected to pay WAY MORE for the amount of food and quality we enjoyed. And the Breakfast Bloody Mary... delicious. Perfectly blended, just the right amount of spice and ground pepper and the alcohol to mix pour- spot on !! A perfect Bloody Mary is an even blend of both and Sarah our waitress nailed it. And as far as Sarah our waitress---- she is what we call a "server" not just a "waitress". My husband and I both come from the restaurant industry and my family has owned many... we would have stolen Sarah in a heart beat !! The food... perfectly done, eggs to just the right moisture and texture, the selection of fresh breads, my husbands country fried steak was a perfect blend of light crisp on the outside but the meat was as tender as could be. I really cant say enough about this place... other than, we will definitely see you again next year for Black Swamp, if not sooner. Oh... and the home made Apple Pie cupcake and Death by Chocolate too die for... OMG !!! Is there a higher rating than 5- cause you...

Today marks my first visit to the Everyday People Cafe. I have heard great things about the food and service. First, I’d like to say my omelette and toast were delicious! They have healthy options to fill your omelette with and I appreciate that. I would definitely order again. Where this place lacks, however, is in service. I was not promptly greeted nor seated by the waitress on duty and it took what seemed like an eternity to obtain my drink and food order. The waitress was very slow moving. At one point, the young lady cooking began taking people their food and other needs so it would not proceed to sit under the heat lamp. She gave me silverware, which I was lacking, and ketchup. She also topped my coffee and several other patrons’ cups as well. I don’t believe I spoke to my waitress again until I asked for my check. If it weren’t for the delicious food, and the cook stepping in to help, my experience would not have been great. 5 stars for food and the service of the young lady who took it to me…0 stars for my waitress who hardly waited on me or...
