MISSION BBQ — Restaurant in Bowling Green

My husband and I decided to end our stressful Monday by stopping to have dinner in stead of going back to our hotel. The day was 7-15-25 and it was a perfect day for barbeque .Jimmy said he had visited a Mission barbeque in Nashville. He was on the road for 13 years as a rock musician and 30 plus in traveling sales so he knows good food. Our experience at the Mission Barbeque on Scottsville Rd in Bowling Green Ky was by far one of the best at a restaurant that either of us have had. First thing as we walked in the door we were greeted with a welcome to Mission. The whole staff from Ashley, Cassidy, Lucy, and Deavion were the most amazing hosts. Our waitress Cassidy was exceptional. When I told Deavion that this was my first experience at a Mission Barbeque he said with a smile "welcome to Mission" and he NAILED his suggestion. The 3 Meat Sampler was a feast to say the least. We sat at our comfortable table and admired the Pictures and enjoyed the metals. It was a relaxed atmosphere and a great place to unwind. We both agree from the entrance to the exit we were impressed. Everything on our trays was exceptional. The ribs, pulled chicken, pulled pork, slaw, baked beans, and turnip greens, just everything was delish. Oh I can not leave out the cornbread even the sweet tea !!!!! Visit this place seriously if you want great food !!! and maybe you could get lucky like we did and get the most WONDERFUL hosts ...HATS OFF TO THE CREW THAT MADE THIS A GREAT...

My wife and I went into Mission barbecue last night. My name is Jimmy Her’s name is Tracy. We had the food sampler of everything already had been there once before, but just didn’t remember how great the food was. We had the most amazing experience in the restaurant, you could imagine I was on the road as a musician for 13 years not only that 30 something years as a sales person I can tell you this I know what good food is on the road when we pulled in I never imagined that I could find a place that every single item would be phenomenal we have been on the road together for at least 15 years of our marriage yet never once had we went into a restaurant and been this happy not only was the help Amazing the entire crew. Cassidy was our waitress her and her sister were so warm and kind she was so great. The entire atmosphere was amazing. Davian was the first one that we met with a smile everyone there could not have been better but the food good barbecue is hard to find this was the best barbecue I’ve ever ate in my entire life may sound like I was being paid to write this, but I could tell you Try it for yourself. I’m from Knoxville Tennessee and I wish we had one there. And I must say one more thing that I left out their choices and optional sausages are as amazing as the food don’t miss out on one of the greatest barbecue places...

The food is overpriced. When I came in to order , I asked a question about the price of a menu item and no one , even a manager , could answer my question. I paid almost $19 for 2 sandwiches. A suggestion for your menu is Family Packs for 2 to 4 people that includes 2 side items and buns for the meat for a reasonable price. $19 for 2 sandwiches is overpriced. I also would suggest that your employees and manager need further training on greeting people and being more knowledgeable when they are asked a question. I have worked in food service and being treated more courteous and respectful & also not feeling rushed to order would make me want to come back. Also having my question answered would make a difference as well. In addition , when they bagged my order to go , they put the sauces in the bag in a way that by the time I got home they were open and had spilled all in the bag and also leaked through the bag on to the seat in my vehicle . If I return , which is highly unlikely , and I am going to have a to go order with sauces , I will definitely ask for an extra to go container to put them in instead so that they don't spill again. To update this post further , my husband ended up with food poisoning from eating these 2 sandwiches and missed shift of work. These 2 sandwiches turned out to be very costly ($259 ) . Definitely...
